Not yet, have some other things for the studio first. If it had an educational discount, i would probably be though :)

I just love KVR and how a thread about softsynth educational pricing turns into political debate about prostitution and human traffic.

NICE ONE!

DON'T repeat the word, it will all start over!!

Well, my opinion is. If Urs say no, he say no. Its his company, even if I and others find it unfair.

Please...just take a pic of a synth with a sign and send it in for the dino crossgrade discount, and there's your student discount. I think it was mentioned before, but you might have missed it.
You could also try making a free set of presets for it with a donate button for the purpose of buying Zebra. Maybe someone will help you out? Just use the demo to start.

Couldn't agree more! That being said, if Urs uses the KVR forum to vent his personal prejudices regarding a group of professionals, it is logical that it leads to this kind of discussions that are maybe not so appropriate for KVR.

I was referring to full blown professors (they sure exist outside of Germany as well) with an income that's in the upper half of the economic divide who are leeching for discounts (which in effect are on the expense of people with a way lesser income). In that way, yes, I have prejudices. I have no respect for such attitude. Just like I despise allegedly "famous" musicians who would mention Zebra and what not in interviews for a free copy.

That said I'm still sure that academic careers allow for a way more comfortable way of living than e.g. that of more than 50% of the people who don't. The major con side of this is that decent earnings start later. The chances of good earnings are pretty good though, compared to other fields of employment. That's IMHO not prejudices - it's a fact.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Amen to that. I know a few professors working at some music universities and their (private!) bookshelves are STUFFED with each and every audio software package ever released. And no, they didn't ask for an academic pricing. They asked to get things for free. Which, apparently, they did. And it's really not as if they would need all these things for their teaching duties.

Couldn't you offer a discount to students but not teachers?

Also, free prostitutes are called sluts. They, like students and professors, are found on university campuses worldwide.

How often does it happen that a full professor is leeching for a discount? Often enough to make generalizations with a negative undertone about academics?
