Too dark seems to be the general consensus and I tend to agree; sorry

Oh...cool. Thanks.xh3rv wrote:It will work just fine on a Mac - the difference is the installation path (~MacHD/Library/Application Support/U-he/Themes)MCnoone wrote:No Mac version?![]()
Themes are just a text file and a collection of .png graphics, very portable.
I didn't realize that.
Maybe unangular can change what his 1st post says at the bottom to show that it is also for Mac.

I absolutely love the simplicity of this skin. My fave already, especially because of rearranged elements in modules.
Changes I'd like:
1) Highlighting of active module
2) Lighter text
3) Arpeggio labels could be less fuzzy in "Large" look
4) Library windows shouldn't be shock-horror-red
5) Current Mod Mapper position should be made visible
6) Module names slightly smaller and all to the left...
7) ...with mode switches immediately below
Otherwise so stunningly gray-black that I think you should rename this skin
MONOLITH...after tweaking it to perfection, of course!

Thanks guys for ALL responses.
It was funny and educational.
Just few lines, to clear things up.
This "skin" is just my representation of zebra.
As i see it. As i feel it. As i hear it.
Beautiful and highly intelligent [i won't say piece of code or plugin] instrument. And what matters most; exceptionally sounding instrument, capable of everything/anything.
And yes, last but not least; it is [graphically [user] adaptable] skinable.
Yeah, i could make panels brighter; text brighter-bigger-smaller, elements bigger-smaller... But that would not be MY reperesentation...
Some useful tips if you want to [laziness factor] mangle elements :
1.] COLOUR name='hlte' rgba='1D1D1DFF'
- change rgba value if you want higlight [all] active modules
my recommendation='BE0101FF'
2.] COLOUR name='defaultCirc1-9 / COLOUR name='defaultModCirc1-9
- change rgba value if you want change knob - modknob [uni-bipolar] color
3.]COLOUR name='defaultText' rgba='FFFFFF40'
- change rgba value if you want to change [brighten] text [almost all] color
4.] COLOUR name='01white' / '02white' / '03white' / '02white' / '04white'
- most used colors for other text elements...
increase rgba value if you want to change [brighten]...
...
5.] Don't hesitate to ask if something is not clear...
Minute/two "job" :

And remember CTRL-F [Win] is your friend.
I know it was mine, last MONTH... or maybe TWO.
Especially with rearranging...
Cheers.

Cool! I'm glad you are ok with us doing a bit of modification on your excellent skin. It's funny, I ended up with knobs colors almost exactly like the ones you show above. (love the red but it is a bit hard on the eyes after a period of time)
Questions if I may. How to change the brightness of the Perform, Synthesis, Presets, Save tabs text and the Global Osc 1 Osc 2 etc text? How to change the background color of the selected element in the grid like the Osc 1 in your screenshot above? Can you explain Ctrl + f a bit? Thanks so much for your time and thanks for creating this work of art.

I really love the irregular shapes of the modules in the default skin though - don't want to lose that. Is there any way to combine elements of both skins? - I like the mod area and arp of this but would prefer to keep the overall shapes of elements of the default skin and make it all a bit lighter.Teksonik wrote:This really is an awesome skin because of the workflow changes, for example the Mod Matrix layout. I think that just making the Text lighter would make this skin perfect. It would also be cool to have versions with different color knobs all blue, all orange etc. Fantastic work!

If the modules are gonna be all the same shape, I'd make different colors for them so my eye visually differentiates them.aMUSEd wrote:I really love the irregular shapes of the modules in the default skin though - don't want to lose that. This skin is interesting because it shows how much you can change the layout and not just the colors/tones.

I really like the mod matrix layout. That is so much clearer! I want to scavenge that part!
The ModFX module is a bit confusing cause the eq button is to the right, but the eq controls are on the left.
I do not find it too dark. I rather like it actually. After switching back, the white text seems too bright.
The global controls are changed, but not really any clearer than the default skin.
Thanks for posting the skin and instructions. Perhaps I will make my own version for myself. At least I want to play with it a bit.

Where in Zebra2.txt do I find the module highlight color? I've changed everything else already, but can't find that.unangular wrote:5.] Don't hesitate to ask if something is not clear...

You mean something that would show you rgb/hex values for colors?, perhaps something like this: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.htmlrexlapin wrote:Hi,
I decided to try and modify the colors for the UnAn skin but I do not
have a listing of the rgba color values. Can someone help point me
to one?

Finally found the problem! Search in Zebra2.txt for '03whitet' and delete the final 't'Howard wrote:5) Current Mod Mapper position should be made visible

Bastian,
Thanks for your reply. I am not a graphic artist and I am a little confused.
The charts I can find seem to be for rgb which uses 6 characters while the
items in the Zebra text file are for rgba (rgb+alpha) which uses 8 characters.
Can someone explain to me what your are doing to change the colors and
how you know which character strings to use?
Cheers,
Scott

@ Teksonik :
CONTROL type='PresetSelector' name='PresetSelector 1517' /// presets left pane
CONTROL type='PresetManager' name='PresetManager 1516' /// presets right pane
id='1' = text
id='2' = selection back
id='3' = selection txt
id='4' = scroll border
id='5' = scroll fill
....
Obviously. CTRL-F [search]+preset =PresetSelector/PresetManager...
A LOT of searching [plugin refresh] in "1.40Mb" text file; i know.
But that's the way it is.
Try to rearrange elements; and you'll see how is that time consuming.

@ aMUSEd :
Just replace images. From original to UnAn folder [ChannelMix1-ChannelMix1; Comb1-Comb1 etc] or vice-versa.
But imho; that would not sit well... And don't forget to backup; in eather way.
To make it lighter; you must open image in some image editor [psp] and add brightness or level image.
And of course... Save with/as overwrite [backup].
@ Howard :
1.] COLOUR name='hlte' rgba='1D1D1DFF'
- change rgba value if you want higlight [all] active modules
@ rexlapin :
Don't bother with rgb+alpha values.
Find Hex code for color you want and just add FF [0% transparent] to end of code.
I Would love to see some "remix" of this skin.
Feel free to post snapshots/downloads.
Cheers.

unangular,
Thanks for the information. I had just been wondering if the first
two characters were red, the second two green, the third two blue
and the fourth are the alpha, and your answer confirms this.
Off to reskin! :)

Scott
