Your comments made me think of the fact that I use Voxengo's GEQ for mid-side EQing on some individual tracks...Agreed wrote:I've been using whole instances of T-Racks 3 deluxe on individual tracks for the compression and EQ, haha, this will be much easier on my CPU than that. I built my computer with a powerful quad-core for a reason, but there's no doubt this will allow me to get more bang for my buck. Their metering alone uses up some precious cycles (but it is quite good, too)>
Now you can get a good Pultec or Fairchild emulation for $99. Although as someone else said, the Opto-Comp is absolutely awesome, I use it in parallel for mid and side with different settings and it gives a kickin' stereo field.
No I can dump it and use the T-Racks3 EQs for that purpose instead... I like to keep a very simple setup and this move by IK helps me to trim down a little more...some very cool mixing possibilities have been opened up..
Now if only they would release their other effects plugs from the Amplitube and Sampletank series as singles.. I don't think I would use anything else..
I know IK attract a lot of drama with their marketing approach but from a musical/production point of view their stuff sounds great..
