In regards to the CPU upgrade,
We are already testing one, that is all I can say.
I will just add that I am not here to argue but put across some points and I am happy to listen to everyone elses points as well and offer what support I can to get things done.
In regards to the V-Rack, firstly it should be possible to offer an upgrade but that is a totally different things to a V-Machine, the idea of the V-Machine being super portable compared to a Rack.
So, enough said, back to some more work.

danny, two questions:
i have not heard about the v-pedal in a long time. when can we expect it?
also, if you look around the drum forums, there are lots of drummers out there who would go crazy over a v-rack with build in trigger inputs. lots of potential customers ... what about that?

I'm playing my V-Machine with a CME UF7![]()

really!
But I've to admit the situation is totally different; CME support simply doesn't reply (also if I consider UF7 a great master), if you send a ticket to SMPROAUDIO they reply very fast.
Now we have only too see if the requested upgrade will be so fast too.

Is it the V-Rack that's going up or the V-Machine that is going down???

To all these who say 20 times (vrack power compared to v-machine) or 40 times, it does not really matter what I said, some facts for you.
1. I am pretty sure I said at least 20 times, what ever I have said in the past on the forum I tried to put into facts.
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/common_cpus.html
Have a look at a benchmark pass for a PIII is it 130.... and an intel Core 2 Dua at 2.66, then add the 3 gig RAM, faster Bus speed, and there you go.. remember also that the application takes a certain amount of CPU.
In regards to new VFX software, I have asked for it to be released today or tomorrow.
In regards to new upgrade on the hardware, it is possible. Depends if customer will want to pay for it, from my point of view, the V-Machine is what it is, it is not TOO slow or ... it is what it is.. it is a product which you can do a hell of allot with, sure we want more CPU (me too) but more and more vendors are writing specific versions for it as we speak.
Anyway, more later.. must run.
Danny
And yes, UF7 is a good master, but not the one that the company promised. I was an alpha tester for UF7 and had to pay full price for it. Software and hardware updates were promised, but never came and the unit is still alpha. If I only had waited for the finished product...
I'm not very willing to pay to try that route again. If a product is alpha, it should be marketed as alpha.

My V-Machine is now working like a charm and it does everything I hoped for when I bought it. You only need to find out HOW to operate it best and, yes, this can be a quite demanding learning process.
I would recommend everybody to get the specific Samplelord version for the V-Machine. Samplelord V-Machine plays even the biggest Gigasampler files like a charm with no latency at all! You really don't need any tricky Truepiano or Pianoteq or whatever Piano plugin because with Samplelord you can load the best and the biggest Piano multisamples into V-Machine. And VM plays some of the best VSTis like the VB3 Hammond sim smoothly without any problems. Think of it, only a used Hammond clone module costs at least 400 to 500 bucks. Some dealers offer the V-Machine for less than 400 bucks. Let's face it: You simply can't expect more for the money!
I used to be a VMachine slasher but after I painfully found out how to operate it best I really became a convert. I am having a lot of fun with this little box now! If only the VM fan could be less noisy!

You know that there ARE very good reasons some piano players wish to use Pianoteq instead of static samples? I'm one of those.

I'm sure it would appreciated by many here if you could write a detailed manual of how you got everything to work. I've tried SM Pro's directions, but there's always something missing! I'm one of those that needs step-by-step directions, assuming that I know nothing. I don't have any problem playing truepianos (but only with external HDD!), b4 or vb3 too, evertheless problems begin when u try to play them togheter in the same bank...vuckmachine wrote:My V-Machine is now working like a charm and it does everything I hoped for when I bought it. Considering that this box has been designed especially for live situations...I'd really like to know who is the keyboard player who can use just one sound for every song (unless you play jazz).

The easiest way to operate your plugins with V-Machine is by using a USB stick instead of struggling with VFX sync.
1) Prepare your VSTis and/or Samplelord in VFX. Dont forget to save your Samplelord banks within Samplelord.
2) Hit 'Save' in VFX and then 'Export Machine...' to export it to your USB Stick.
3) Start your VMachine and wait until it has booted.
4) Plug in your USB stick in the VMachine and here we go! Now you can choose your VSTi and presets in VMachine and play.
Truth be told, it's a lot of try and error and I must say that the VMachine manual is a pain in the a.. ! This manual is nearly useless!

i'm wondering... with using samplelord.. Is there any compromises?
Sound Quality?.. There must be some drawbacks..
Would you hear the difference if you did the blindfold test?(original vst vs post samplelord).. maybe I need to understand samplers better.
If Samplelord is the answer then how come SM Pro hasn't announced it as
"the remedy"?
i'm desperate to have my v-machine run the best piano vsts on live gigs.
Also, can samplelord do anything that would make a stereo vst like truepianos play better in mono?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

@ptsound
Samplelord doesn't play VSTi's. It's a VSTi itself which you can use to play sampled sounds. It's a software sample player if you will.

There's always some slight latency.
Ivory can't work through samplelord because it uses it's own sample format I think. Also, the guys who made Ivory explicitly said that it won't work on V-Machine because it doesn't have enough power to run it.

From what I know all sample formats can be changed to SAMPLE LORD format using things like Chicken systems or Sample Lords own Format changer.DragonSagoth wrote:There's always some slight latency.

did you tried some sampletekk libraries (3-5 GB) with samplelord and the v-machine? you wrote it played even the biggest giga-files. what do "biggest" mean (in GB) ?
@vfxau
now new vfx-software/firmware. when can we expect a new version? april, may ....?
