using MDrummer small as simple sound source

Hi there!

I just came across mdrummer and am a bit surprised that mdrummer small is said to be a free drum editor with some restrictons , of course. but to me it looks like there is no possibility to use it without first building up drum loops in mdrummer and then integrating it into my sequenzer (ableton 7).

I thought:
"Custom MIDI - you can use MDrummer as a sound source only of course."

... means you can build up the loops in ableton and simply use the sounds of mdrummer ...

but it looks like i always get the basic sample loops in ableton ...

any suggestions?

Hi Martin,

check the video tutorials (mainly the MIDI command method in VST plugin video).
t depends on the MIDI channel you are using - use 1-9 to control rhythms, use 10 to trigger your own notes. Moreover you can use Quick setup / Global settings / MIDI mode to make MDrummer work that way on all channels.

- it looks like the settings for midi mode are not stored
- general problem: i get an impuls visually in ableton, but still no sound ... i guess i should ask in another forum, hm?
