It's the entire computer screen. Almost like it "kills" the PC 3-4 seconds after it's inserted into a project. Then after a few seconds, the computer comes back to life, and the GUI shows up with the "blocky", blacked-out areas.Galbanum wrote:4) GUI drawing issue: (i.e. black screen on first load--confined to the GUI window--not the entire computer screen). First, we had read all the reports of this and we are fervently investigating to try to find the cause and a solution. Second, to clarify, it is our current understanding that this is only a cosmetic issue that does not effect the audio/processing in any way. Oddly this issue seems more prevalent in the demo versions. We are exploring this. It should be noted that, while this bug may look extreme b/c if effects the GUI, it does not mean the processing/DSP code is effected. We assume this to be a simple fix once we identify the cause.

What are your OS, Host, and System details? Are you inserting on an audio track or a FX/Send/Aux?JeffSanders wrote: It's the entire computer screen. When the GUI is drawn (after the initial black screen that you see), it displays incorrectly you say? If you minimize/hide the GUI, or close the editor and then reopen, does it draw correctly at that point?

Aether is running fine here .
In reaper , there is a slight delay before the interface shows up ( a Gui which I think is O.K.) and it uses between 17% and 26% of CPU ; thats on a 1.8mhz P4 w 1GB of ram thats the family computer and has a boatloat of TSR stuff , antivar, and Micro slouch messenger is running also .
I need to test it on my dedicated dual core DAW machine when I get time . It does sound good !
Just thought you might appreciate a post that does'nt mention any foobar going down !!!

One instance of the demo here take 5% CPU on my C2Duo at 2GHz. (Also in reaper)
And that is no matter if I make the decay short or even infinite.
Biggest impact is the LR.
By dialing down the modulation you get down to 4%.
And by turning off the LR completely you get less than 1%! (0.84%)
Something fynny I found was that turning down the LR diffuse to min CPU rose to 18%! But by setting it to 1 or more this problem does not occur.
if it is some denormals going on or I look forward to see in the 1.0x update log

Why isn't this group buy being published in the major blogs????
It has been weeks and I still didn't see it in any one of them.
These are the blogs I sign with RSS:
440tv.com
synthtopia.com
mixonline.com
kvraudio.com (of course)
rekkerd.org
remixmag.com
protoolerblog.com
Electronic musician
Why didn't any of these blogs posted anything about this group buy yet?!?! Even Red Line reverb has been released in KVR...

Hey! Look at what people are saying about Redline Reverb:
http://www.112db.com/redline/reverb/?kudos
It is priced at $99. Gotta try it also.

This is all normal and expected. That is in line with the CPU usage per/core per/Ghz I projected with my 8 core (2.8Ghz) system.lazerkind wrote:One instance of the demo here take 5% CPU on my C2Duo at 2GHz. (Also in reaper)

CPU usage is NOT effected by Rev Time. This a nice contrast to convolution where this is NOT true--i.e. long impulses require more CPU in most convolution solutions.
One nice thing to do is to use only the ER section on audio tracks, and use a few LR sections on sends/buses/auxes.... You can get really nice results this way. Very complex but coherent results which seem to glue the mix spatially... You could run a few hundred ER sections, and a few LRs this way if you wanted to, all at low CPU. (Unfortunately you can not test this in the demo b/c we limit to once instance.)
This is odd. We will explore. We do take precautions to avoid denorm issues, but we will take a look and double check etc...lazerkind wrote: Something fynny I found was that turning down the LR diffuse to min CPU rose to 18%! But by setting it to 1 or more this problem does not occur.

Most Group Buys I've been apart of, it's been left up to the users to spread the word of a group buy, not the company. If you've joined the GB, then take it up the responsibility of spreading the word.
Guess what... a lot of plugins have been released. Oh guess what... I bet even more plugins will be released. Oh guess what... I bet another company will eventually release another reverb.

Same issue here. Enitre computer screen. So to answer your question:Galbanum wrote:What are your OS, Host, and System details? WinXP SP3, FL Studio 8 (even FL Studio 8.5 beta), Cubase SX 3 with same result.
Geforce 7600, today latest official WHQL driver installed, same thing happening.
Once when black screen goes away i can minimize/maximize/hide/show everything ok. Loading another in same project ok! This is present just when you power up host and you try to load aether for the first time in project. Each other is loading fine. There is no difference loading it as send, FX, aux (why there should be?)

There should not be.... but you never know...kmonkey wrote: There is no difference loading it as send, FX, aux (why there should be?)
Does this happen to anyone who has an ATI video card?
