We can't control what dealers are selling the unit for, our prices have not changed,we did not lower the price at all.raintalk wrote:Maybe it was just overpriced in the first place?vuckmachine wrote:The price drop in such a short time is ridiculous.
Early adopters always take this risk. Lowering the price always pisses off someone - SM Pro can't win this unless sales really do take off at the new price point. Maybe they'll drop again.
If it was the same price as a netbook I'd be in now.

Hi,
I have referred this to the US distributor, but by law in EU and Australia we cannot set a price only a guide, in the USA a distributor can set a MAP.

Like myself who bought it for full price and then couldn't even use it for a month until software was developed. And still am waiting for the software to work properly. Actually you do have control over the price. If I could actually synchronize to the V .Or be able to load via the usb stick without issues. For instance if I have two banks and try to upload them to the v the second bank will somehow get a missing dll message? What is that especially if the banks are identical with the exception of a different sample.Or if this forum, the only one really discussing this product btw. had some positive reviews. Retailer A might be able to sell the 50 or sixty v's they have sitting around plus the returned ones.. The price was lowered because a lack of confidence in this product. As well as incomplete software, incompatible plug ins. Complex info file creation for the less technically inclined. It cant even run Zios s Mr Ray 1.0 vst without choking.Promises of software updates that never come. Info files that have different reg info in them than whats on your computer. and why would you need to even mess with your registry to get a vsti work on this box? Not everybody is a programmer.I am an electrician how would you like to have e to rewire your house just to make your breakfast. And not one positive review on harmony central. You do have control of the price. If the product stood up to the advertised hype you could have asked more for it. Free your Vsts....truth is my best vsts are still trapped on my desktop.raintalk wrote:Well you didn't set a MAPVFXAU wrote:

I will address each one of these as I can...
You don't need to do any WIZARDS or mess with any registry entries, the wizards are downloded for free from our website and we constantly update it with new versions, several vendors now offer software for the V-machine and more are adding titles and versions specifically for the V-Machine as we speak. we will also be increasing the software included with the v-machine and offering it to current users as well.
You will always have VST's which will not work on the V-Machine, no matter what CPU we put inside. The main thing for us is to make as much as possible work on it, it can certainly run many plugins which are out there in the market. I do how ever understand the frustration as well.
This is a known issue with the last revision of the software, it was discussed earlier, but in any case it has been addressed in the new version and this will be up today or during the weekend.funkyclav wrote: If I could actually synchronize to the V .Or be able to load via the usb stick without issues. In defence of VFX, software development is an ongoing event, we don't stop development of a product like this, we have a certain amount of developers working on the project and they were working the last couple of months specifically on getting the MAC version out. Both are now compatible so when ever we do a PC update it automatically updates the MAC version.funkyclav wrote: As well as incomplete software, incompatible plug ins. The problem (for you) is what coud happen with this trend.VFXAU wrote:Hi,

A dealer lowers the price when is not possible to sell a product, but this means that margins drop (considering the fact that SM PRO has not changed its price). Others dealers arguably should align their price to be competitive.
But at a certain level it could be economically disadvantageous to continue selling a product with a very low margin.
In conclusion the dealer wont buy this product anymore...and this is a consideration that should seriously alarm SM PRO.

Discounting happens all the time, I know in Germany they have a big issue with dealers including Thomann and Musik Store discouting against each other, not much we can do about it but continue our development and release new versions.delafuerte wrote:The problem (for you) is what coud happen with this trend.VFXAU wrote:Hi,

...BTW Can't you give us some specification about the upgrade you are testing?
Why is so misterious?

Yes please, tell us more about the CPU update.
For me this is important to choose a v-machine or not. If a CPU update is not possible I will choose for a netbook/laptop on stage. A V-Rack is not an option for me.
So if you have any info please let us know.

Me too.. need to know about CPU upgrade, otherwise I need to move on..
For me, if it's not possible in the near future.. no problem, no hard feelings,
but I'm tired and I need to know.
C'mon VFXAU, show us your hand.

You're right, this isn't the only place at this price.delafuerte wrote:

They could be closing them out.
You can't have technology products sitting on the shelf - they go out of date in 6 months. SM Pro is already talking CPU upgrade.
V-rack looks like a better fit for me, but I'll have to wait 6 months after release for a good price, and maybe a CPU upgrade to it.
