Hi.
Those of you that have done the upgrades to Receptor 2, how are the new machines? Are they noticably faster? How many more plug-ins can you run? And I guess the bottom line is do you feel they're worth doing?
Thanks.

Phil gives an excellent report at the posted link. I'm not a "power" user in terms of running multiple plugs etc. I mainly use mine to provide one at a time high-end pianos, rhodes, b3s and such. It is really nice to play Ivory, Scarbee Rhodes, True Pianos, Akoustik Piano etc. at a latency of 32 samples with no clicks, pops, or drops. I never thought that I was overly sensitive to latency (I used to use 128 or even 256 without too much bother), but I definetly notice that instruments feel better at 64 and 32. So from that perspective I'd say I'm very pleased. And of course my old 160 gig hard drive was full, so that and the 3 gigs of ram were both important improvements for me. I wasn't really expecting that things would load or boot that much faster, and those things were not really issues for me to begin with - and still are not issues for my uses.
