What does the 'cluster' setting in the comb filter do?

....besides blow out people's speakers/eardrums?
If I use a fill noise there is no sound, and if I input an oscillator, I get a painful blast of noise even if the channel volume is set to 0. Is there some specific use for the 'cluster' setting that I'm not aware of? This also brings me to a suggestion: Zebra needs a limiter! The filters sound great, but the filter resonance and feedback from the delay unit can sometimes get out of hand at certain settings, and a limiter feature would be nice to have while exeprimenting with unusual sounds.

Cluster was work in progress which accidentally went into a public beta version. Unfortunately some people based a coupld of sounds on this, so I had to leave it in. I'd love to throw Cluster away alltogether and maybe replace it with something useful.

Btw. You get a limiter easily when you place the "Comp" module in the fx chain. Set it to "strong" type, compression to 100% and threshold maybe at -6 dB. Short Attack goes towards brickwall limiter, longer attacks are more like normal limiters.

The compressor in Strong mode when pushed hard with very short attack and release can be fantastic for turning sounds into something really fat and nastyUrs wrote:Btw. Interesting - I get no sound out of "Cluster" at all (Mac/logic8).

Go for it! I've never gotten something really useful out of it.Urs wrote:Cluster was work in progress which accidentally went into a public beta version. +1 and maybe offer downloads of old (unsupported) versions for those who want to go back and get an obsolete sound.pdxindy wrote:Go for it!
