I am having an issue with certain vst instruments. Some have large GUI and block the tracking area. I don't see a feature to minimize them nor hide them and I notce they can't be dragged out of the way either. However, the supplied synths that come with Mulab have smaller GUI's and have the minimize feature.

Each VST editor window has a Hide button in its title bar, near the Close button. It's the yellow button with the - symbol.

On OSX it's at the left side of the title bar, on Windows, it's at the right side.

Can you find it?

Maybe there can be a right click option or a keyboard shortcut for this because when I load up voyager it takes over the whole viewing area and I can't get to the minimize button. or even better would be a scrollbar for intsrument's GUI (when bigger than screen) and the title bar not being allowed to exit viewing area.

A keyboard shortcut will be possible in M3.

Plugin editors that are bigger than the entire screen? That doesn't sound very user friendly to me.

no it's not very friendly... sadly arguru died before the interface could be finished, so we have what was.. but it's still a great synth if you can get past that.

Yes, i heard about arguru. Sad story.

Regarding the gui: i'll see what i can do.

mutools,
no it's not there when I load up UltraAnalog ...but I was able to adjust the screen size in windows and saw the "minus" on the plug-ins top right - this corrected the problem :)
So far I am in love with this progie...light enough to keep the sound quality at optimum - very good with memory compared to the other "hog" systems ...too many horns and whistles create problems. Keep up the good work ! ...and thankx for the quick respones to all.

Sorry to hear about arguru. Is this app going to be worked on or was he the one who engineered this ?

He was the only programmer on the synth, he had someone working on the GUI it was just never implemented. If you check it out (voyager) there's a couple of really good banks floating around for it with a bunch of classic sounds.... top quality patches IMO. I think they are the nolwen banks, I'm pretty sure there was two of them, but I lost them and only have one now. One of his coolest apps was "saiko" for doing goa/psytrance stuff, it automatically makes trance stuff but you can turn down everything but the synthlines and sample them. I produces amazing stuff but i've never been able to bring myself to use it in a song but it's fun to play with.

It happens mostly when you use a 800x600 monitor view.

If MU.LAB used the native windowing toolkit, Alt-Space would open the window's control menu, with M to move... on MSWindows, anyway. That's got me out of a few tight spots with apps that don't understand dual monitors.

In M3, a right-click on the borders of a window pops up a little context menu containing Close, Hide, Minimize, Maximize and Move To Top-Left.

So in the above described situations, whenever you see a piece of the window border at whatever side, you'll be able to control the window, as a kind of SOS solution.
