If you installed the new build, you will see Zebrify in your VST list. It is a separate plug-in.red37 wrote:I just wondering how people keep mentioning it, and where i can have a nosey!
btw...i bought your Zebra Science soundbank last night Howard. BIG thumbs up!! I love it. Thankyou.

since i got my new SSE2 PC i noticed Zebra is very CPU friendly if you can make use of Urs' SSE2 optimizations

I know this is a bit early, but a wishlist:
* include a transient/envfollow driven gate generator?
* include a pitchness/etc driven midi note generator?
* include microtuning support for the FMO's / OSC's? (FM without microtuning is no fun)
* include ALL 4 FMO's
* Can you make separate instances of zebrify aware of each other? If you could use the "transient" & "pitchness" values of zebrify-instance-X to control modulations on zebrify-instance-Y, there would be all kinds of multiband/sidechain possibilities to it(?)
It's really fascinating trying out different combos with it as it is now, though.. I'm finally getting a taste of modulating FX params dynamically with the audio signal - really cool for reverbs/delays, perhaps a boring way to use zebrify to some but I love it :p

Envelope Detector, mode = AR Env? (I haven't tried this yet)

Please excuse the following rant - got to get it out of my system!
(Not aimed at the previous poster, but a general observation)
I find nearly all posts claiming "this or that additional feature would be awesome! / amazing! / fantastic!" tedious, especially when so many really useful new features are practically IGNORED soon after they are implemented. A few Zebra2 examples: ModMappers, voice drift off, usable compressor modes, envelope and portamento time modulation (unannounced, but working now), Blown comb and new prefill modes, Exophase and Hypercomb spectral effects etc. etc..
Almost as tedious as "Aliasynth vs Sizzlemaster - which is more Analog?"

Well, my only "could you include feature X" post in the past regarding u-heHoward wrote:Please excuse the following rant - got to get it out of my system!![]()

products has been "it would be cool to be able to control arp swing with an
external modulator" (to which Urs said it cannot be done), and I was cool with that.
But as you wish, I'll not ever ask anything again. So you can stop ranting.
I guess I know where you are coming from - I hear a lot of cats going "well, it
can do X and Y - But can it fart?" and the same people just preset-surf with the
machines. That can get tedious.

Damn, and I was kinda hoping for the "Date with Heidi Klum Module", in the next upgrade. I guess that's a no go now...huh.
I agree though. I suggested one thing once (individual osc porta), then found out it could done just by assigning mseg's to the tune mod. I notice some suggestions do cross the line of what is technically capable. I just hope the Heidi Klum Module will be in 2.5 as promised.

Urs please include proper microtuning in Zebrify too..
What's the purpose of such deliberate cripplage anyway?
It's better to have multiple inputs... This'd allow all sorts of funky key input schemes! And perhaps surround compatibility in the future.tetsuneko wrote:* Can you make separate instances of zebrify aware of each other? Having some sort of a "universal shared buss" technique ofter results in less-than pleasing buffer synchronization issues
Zebrify feels like one of the best sets of effect processors/signal transmogrifiers and with all the mod options it's simply a killer!
Cheers, Urs!!!

The auto-gate (transient/envelope detector to trigger things) is definately coming, but I havn't sussed out how to do it best yet.
Input pitch to note is already there, just switch "Key Source" (left side of the keyboard control) from "MIDI" to "Pitch" or "Pitch Quantized". This way the input pitch will determine the pitch of oscillators and key follow.
More inputs or cross-plugin communication as well as surround are not really an option at the moment.
Oh... MIDI out is again not an option due to lack/limitations of certain plugins specs and due to my reluctance to put an effort into supporting other people's shortsightedness. I hate that multi-plugin, crossplatform support gets in the way sometimes, but I can't help it.

Urs

oh, btw, Microtuning is already implemented, just as it is in Zebra. I only need to determine where to put the controls for that...
