Route Channel to Phones Only?

I'm new to the Receptor so this may be possible but I've looked through the docs and think it's probably a no:
I'm looking for a way to route a channel to the headphone output only. I'd like to run the main rear output stereo to the house. However, I'd like to run a channel only to the headphones so I can run it to the drummer only. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Receptor ADAT channels 3-8 and SPDIF outputs are separate from Analog LR out. Could you rack up a cheap D2A convertor and monitor through that? For example, a new Behringer ADA8000 @$200 adds 8 balanced outputs via ADAT digital. You could send ADA8000 XLR 3 and 4 to the house and montior separately through Receptor LR

Can't you 'unroute' any channel from the main (I don't have my Receptor at the moment)? Maybe that will give you the effect you are looking for...

Yes, the Recptor has a nice matrix i/o where any input can be routed to its own combination of outputs. Output choices are Main LR, ADAT 1-8 and SPDIF LR, with Main LR and ADAT 12 being the same.johnrule wrote:Can't you 'unroute' any channel from the main (I don't have my Receptor at the moment)? Jeff, I thought of one possible solution that might be easy and inexpensive. See if you can find a used stereo receiver that has a SPDIF input jack. Some newer surround receivers have this and I recall a few oldies like Onkyo Integra that might. Any receiver with a digital input will likely have an awesome amp with lots of clean power, which your drummer will appreciate.
In Receptor, run Main LR to the house like you are now. But uncheck the channel you want to send only to your drummer from Main LR, and check SPDIF for this channel. Connect Receptor SPDIF out to the receiver's SPDIF in. Leave the gain for that channel around unity in Receptor, and set the receiver near the drummer so he can control his own volume level. The only issue I can think of is to make sure the receiver and Receptor can sync with each other without conflict, e.g. clock rate and who's master / slave. Also, the receiver's SPDIF input should be coaxial rather than optical to keep things simple.

Thanks for all your input. Those are good ideas. I'll have to check with our drummer to see if he can receive S/PDIF. If not, maybe a cheap converter would be best. I was thinking that with all the routing options sending only one channel to the phones would be possible.
Definitely a good enhancement request for the Muse folk!!

Having this feature within Receptor would be a bit neater, but the stereo receiver idea hit me because headphone amps can be pretty anemic power-wise. In production I used to monitor through a Digi 003 headphone jack, then finally went online and found a small vintage stereo amplifier with 25 WPC that sounds awesome. I've parked it on the ALT outputs of the 003. It rocks with headphones and I paid only about $25 for it.
