'Twould be a fun feature IMO.
Yeah it would. Using your voice to control any MIDI instrument in realtime would be very interesting!

jfyi, you can do that with Usine and any host...

But would be cool to do that easily, just with a few clicks

Can your stupid Cubase record audio on a hard disk though??

I think the first company that allows recording the first 5 takes directly into the trash bin will strike gold.

Re-Delete? :hihi: Re-Turd?

Lawrence,
thanks for that, I actually hadn't had the time to play around with this.
Very mighty feature, and really cool, to the point vid ! :tu:

Thanks. I did make a workflow error in the video though. You should select all the parts (like I did later) and go into the drum editor and then you can use the parts list in the drum editor to highlight different parts without going back and forth like I did in the video.

Even better ! :)

Yesterday Cubase amazed me once again by being able to quickly solve a stupid mistake of mine I wouldn't have made without Cubase !
Been working on an older project when I noticed that all MIDI events on the bass track had an offset in the info line of a few ticks to the left, though the notes were correctly in time. Slip of the mouse perhaps, 25 versions back, not noticed ?
When correcting the offset obviously the timing went off. Simple solution: Mark all events on that track, Logical Editor, move all notes to the right by said amount of ticks - done !
While this simple example was purely cosmetic it once again made me realize how mighty the tools are we have at our disposal.

Thanks for the heads up - that's good to know. I have Usine Free kicking around so I'll check it out. :)

There is a post in the using forum about it, if you want more information.

So has anyone else tried Loopmash? I'm not a big loops user, but this thing is very cool. I've got some big epic purcussion loops with various elements and you can throw those in there and create new cool percussion lines.

I complain about hosts sometimes who just add plugins and not features. But Cubase 5 seems to add a good amount of both. And their plugins are actually very useful, and in the case of Loopmash, even a bit innovative. Very cool stuff!

I've played with it a bit and it certainly will allow you to stretch your loop library. I haven't actually used it in a production session yet though.

It's definitely cool. Now, it's not automatic magic. Some loops don't jive well with it, especially loops with long sustains, as it chops up the sustain portion into multiple slices. I wonder if pre-sliced loops with proper sustain slicing would make a difference?

There's a lot of power there though to make new and interesting "beats" using a mixture of others. Cool to come up with some backing combos.

I was playing with it once and I couldn't the sound I wanted, the balance between loops per se. Later (duh) it occurred to me that it's a VSTi so you can run multiple instances of it bring different loops into the different instances.

I'd meant to return and experiment with that and never got around to it.

Anyway, if you do any of that kind of stuff (beats) have a run at the step designer for creating bass loops using Halion One bass patches. Really cool... if you know your musical scales of course.
