Watch any 70s Mini player and you'll see they're constantly controlling everything, altering filters, glide amounts, triggering glide with foot pedals, changing the envelopes and waveforms.
Ah yes, so now we are in a (very necessary) workflow discussion. Real knobs and real switches are something different (to me, being a human user) than mousing around. This does for me, personally) NOT mean that HW synths are more useful than SW ones, but that I desire specific HW controllers for my SW synths.

That's the reason I really love my Korg Legacy MS20: this thing is nearly exactly what I want. It is a VSTi with all VSTi's benefits PLUS a workflow like a hardware synth (despite the small keys, well).

Give me such HW controllers for my Arturia modular or CS80... (ah, and of course with built-in USB hubs...)

Kind regards,
Andreas

I would like period instruments from the Baroque era. Now that's really vintage!

Unless you're talking about a DX-7 emulation :hihi: Sometimes SW has more user control features than the HW had. :D

I asked the creator of the VL-1 about porting it VSTI a couple years ago at AES.
... and?? ... not that we'd be more interrested on the answer, now that you posted so ...
The Casio VL-1 Tone has already been ported to VSTi for those that don't already know. You can get it here.

Oh my bad I thought you guys were talking about the VL-1 Tone? Yeah it is the Ultimate Crap of the 80's.

How about a Korg WaveDrum emulation that would be rather cool if you ask me. 8)
