Hi grapite

Well I'm certainly making progress but I don't like the fact that I'm working on something that SM Pro should have had working since day one themselves . It's a lot of work for me and the timing is not good at all either. The recession has meant I've lost my job and my attention has been to do whatever I can to support my family lately. Not fix what SM Pro should have done from day one so they can keep on selling V-Machines. Sorry if I sound a little off, it's not directed at all at you, it's just that I'm being pulled in every direction lately for things I don't really want to do. I do the work and others get the rewards seems to be the general tone here lately.

That said I've have added the following to what you have already seen,.

1: The DLL file can now be specified.

2: It's now possible for the end user to create categories for the database.

3: Drag & Drop has been added to allow the end user to transfer plugins between categories

4: The database now accepts file attachments. Meaning you can actually attach any type of file to the actual plugin lot in the database. This can be anything from the files that make it work right down to the full setup files. If authorised plugins and their files are attached to the database using this feature, end users are warned that there is a copyright issue here in sharing their database file with others as once an activated plugin is attached to the database the database should be able to generate a wizard file that will work with any V-Machine.

It's at the point now where the focus is on getting the program to write all code that sits between the elements that make up the wizard file.

I also have to add an import features that allow the end user to extract information from the files VFX generates. Basically the idea is you import the plugin into VFX, it generates a partial wizard file. You then import that file into my program which will then bring you the rest of way.

I'm also looking at getting the program to copy any files specified to the correct folders. So not only will it generate the wizard, it will put all the files where they should be.

Regards.
Sharp.

Sharp,

No offense taken, I can certainly sympathize with you about the timing. I think they should probably pay you for this, or don't release it! The company itself is either under staffed, or they just don't get it, as was said before, their future with this line of products will probably depend on this software, especially concerning ease of use!

The fact that a good idea and product was released without clear usable software speaks volumes in itself about them. I have a thought, maybe they should start buying up the plugins and write the VFX files themselves instead of have users do there work for them! I believe as soon as the Muse Box comes out, this will be a moot point anyway.

I do have a question about your soft, or maybe another app to go along with yours, would it be possible to make a program that looks and acts like a file browser so that we might get in that way to load and unload? or would that be senseless with their file system? I think I already know the answer to this one. Good luck my friend, Family first!

There is no point getting the demo to run on the vmachine as one of the demos limitations is it will not save or recall sounds. This means it wont create or load vst CHUNKs which the VFX software uses to load sounds and patches. The plugin warns you of this when you press save in the vfx software which is good to see. So with no mouse you cant load a sound into this plugin whilst it is in demo mode. No sound = no point to get running. Of course you can try it out on your host computer to determin if you like the sound of the plugin before purchasing it which is all a demo is meant to be for.

I dont see a reason why the full version wont work, I sent an email to kjaerhus audio yesturday to discuss support and am waiting on a reply. All their classic series vst plugins are working already and are great free effect plugins which dont use much cpu.

Saturday I used my V-machine for the first time at a two-hour gig. Rock-solid performance by the V (sampletank+VB3-patches).

I can't even remember the last time I experienced a two-hour gig without any technical problems at all. Maybe in the good old days with all hardware-stuff...

Program-change almost works 100% from my Fatar-keyboard. I can only access preset 001 and forward, not 000. Strange...

This is getting good. Just waiting for the cpu-upgrade....

Excellent! I have taken mine to several practices with two different bands and it has performed flawlessly. My only complaint is that the outputs are a little low. I had to stop running it through my Fantom G's audio inputs and put it into its own mixer channel. I haven't gotten around to loading the full version of Sampletank yet, but it's on my to do list. If a CPU upgrade were to materialize, I'd jump on that!

Contact me with a support ticket via

http://smproaudio.helpserve.com/

Since it is related to the plugins copy protection I wont discuss or post details of this in a public forum.

I agree. The sound-engineer had to gain it up a lot at our last gig.

Has anybody tried the PCR-800 via USB with the V-Machine? I know it doesn't work with the Receptor.

Post

no PCR800 yet, I've tried a Axiom 49 and an Axiom 61 and they both worked fine using USB power.
