Hello again,
another question, how do you set up midi learn in zebra.
i can't seem to find it in the intructions. I normaly just use automation on xyz controls, but i want to permanantly map the knobs on my midi keyboard to the my init patch of zebrah if its possible.
i'm hoping that in doing this a can use the same pots for multiple instances of zebra but control them idepently to each other, by them only responing when thier own midi channel is armed.
or does anyone know of a better way to achieve this?
cheers

Midilearn is just a case of rightclicking on a knob and assigning
Best way to control Zebra though is to use a controller like NI Kore that can create different pages for each module (so you can use a modular approach to controller assignments on a per patch basis)

I see what your saying about the controller though, but i can't really use pages in this instance. i need this for a live set and i find if i put different things on different pages its eay to forget which page you are on and tweak the wrong thing.
i'm thinking if I do it through midi i can use the same set of controls for all the synths the only thing that changes is which synth channel is armed for recording.

Yes, that is correct.coyote wrote:So i just right click on the xy handle and move a contoller to make the assigment? sorry not in fron of it right now/
This is a problem with "generic" MIDI controllers, and I find it quite difficult to get my head around swapping between different synths but controlling them with the exact same physical layout.coyote wrote:I see what your saying about the controller though, but i can't really use pages in this instance. i need this for a live set and i find if i put different things on different pages its eay to forget which page you are on and tweak the wrong thing.
Your host will take care of sending the MIDI messages to the currently armed track, so you don't need to worry about that. If you take the time to set up a common template for all of your soft synths, you can achieve the kind of thing you want. If you want to control multiple instances of Zebra at the same time, some hosts will allow you to arm several tracks at the same time.coyote wrote:i'm thinking if I do it through midi i can use the same set of controls for all the synths the only thing that changes is which synth channel is armed for recording.
Hope that helps.
Peace,
Andy.
