importing my old samples into kontact

Hi
I am trying to import my akai sample library into kontact on my receptor, which should (I think) be able to play them, but I cannot work out how to do it.
I have the receptor connected to my mac (where I have the akai samples and programs) via ethernet and have the receptor hard disc displayed, but I can't seem to see where all the kontact samples are.
Can anybody help?
Is it as simple as dragging the samples into the correct place?
Apologies if this is really obvious but I can't find the answer in the kontact or receptor manuals.
Many thanks

I don't really know but i assume it's easier to convert them to Kontakt format first on your Mac and then load them into the Receptor like any other Kontakt sample.

If Kontakt works the same on Receptor as on Windows & Mac, you should be able to see the drive in Kontakt's browser. You did't say which version of Kontakt you're using, but in Kontakt 3, you can either load a single Akai program, then save it as a Kontakt nki wherever you want, or select an entire folder or drive, and convert the contents to Kontakt format.Beeboss wrote:Hi

You need to see the Mac's drive in Kontakt (either on the Receptor or Mac), and do the conversion from there. If you've got Kontakt on both the Mac & Receptor, it may be easier to do the conversion on the Mac, then drag them over to the Receptor.

Many thanks for your quick replies.
Unfortunately I haven't got Kontakt installed on my rather old mac laptop, so I can't convert and then import to the receptor. It's Kontact 3 btw.
So somehow I have to see the mac hard drive (where the akai progs are) from within Kontakt on the receptor, and convert and import from there?
OK I shall give that a go.
Thanks again

Open the receptor drive using the Receptor tools, find the Akai sample library folder(s) on your Mac, drag them into a folder on the receptor drive. It doesn't matter too much where they are, but I like to keep my samples somewhat organized. I would probably go to the folder where my Kontakt samples are saved and create a new folder within it called Akai. Once the samples are on the drive you can access them in the Kontakt browser. It is not necessary to convert the sample programs to NKI format before transferring them to the receptor.
