My answer: Yes, you are crazy. What doesn't impresses me ?

After I try Pro Tools, Cubase was completly obsolete.
Also, I never liked very mutch. Sould my Version 4 at some weeks.

Steinberg should stop and think again what they really want do do, and not copying parts of other software.
I'm sorry, but nobody asked what you prefer more than Cubase.

ProTools is great, but don't pretend it's nearly as complete as Cubase. Many people, including myself, prefer Cubase by a mile. I do like PT and though I sold my PT system, I will get another in the future. But it's not as complete. And copying parts? Are you serious? Considering Cubase was first to many areas, and even PT has copied from other software, that's kind of a silly point to make.

Now that that is out of the way, this is a thread about Cubase, not what other host you prefer. Nobody asked. I don't mean to be rude, honestly, but that's just not what this thread is for. I don't care about a host war, but for tips on Cubase and even issues you have with Cubase. If you've got those and can express your thoughts in a respectful manor, by all means, please share. Otherwise, start another thread.

Personally I think it's shocking the way Steinberg copied their whole MIDI sequencing paradigm off Digidesign back in the early 80s - unforgivable.

Then there was the way they copied Digidesign's idea of virtual instruments. Digi have been doing that since way back when. Then in the 90s Steinberg came along with their VST idea and completely ripped off everything Digidesign had been doing for the previous, what, ten years?

ASIO drivers for low latency native recording is yet another example of how Steinberg "invented" something that Digidesign have done for at least 40 years now, IIRC.

Also its shocking the way they have integrated notation into Cubase, completely ripping off Pro Tools 8.

And I hate the way Steinberg suggest running effects processing natively. Sure, Digidesign did that long agto with RTAS, but I betcha that Steinberg start copying Digidesign's much newer DSP alternatives any day now.

Bloody rip off merchants

The Germans may not give a rats behind what many of their customers think at times but nobody can deny that they've been very innovative over the years.

Lost me on that one. How does innovation make up for lack of musical talent? I think people forget that musicians used to be on the other side of the glass.

Now everyone is an engineer... or claims to be.

Best case scenario? Talented engineer recording a talented musician. Pretty rare in the home studio scene where everyone is a jack of all trades... musician, producer, recording engineer, mixing engineer and mastering engineer.

Well, it was supposed to be a joke.

I like to use this analogy, the Sahara is dry, I'm drier!
