I know some of you dont like this kind of questions, but there is so much hype aout sylenth1,

Does zebra2 has something to envy this synth ?

Post

:hihi:

Should be in "instruments"
The Zebra forum is all filled up right now with useless threads.
To answer the question, Zebra is semi-modular. Slylenth is not.
Modular is better(.)

Sylenth and Zebra are different. Go by what you need or like. I demoed both. I bought Zebra.

thats the soundspectrum of zebra2: :harp: :violin: :band: :band2: :singer:

Post

Some have argued that some hyped synths have brighter oscillators than Zebra. Which is why Zebra 2.5 (and its current betas) offers an option (oscillator renderer) that renders the argument void. While of course we still prefer the "duller" setting for its smoothness, warmth and "hi fi" character.

Post

for sylenth:

- it is a simple hard wired synth with clear parameter names reported to host. this makes it very simple to map out to a bcr2000

- you can make the filter sing like a little bird

for zebra:

everything else.

modulation, playability (cool stuff like polyphonic aftertouch, pitch bend range and so on), variety...if the GUI scares you: half an hour with the manual is all you need. also you can make templates and use those as "hard wired synths" if you like it simple.

Apples vs pears
Broccoli vs cauliflower
South of France vs North of Spain
Barcelone vs Manchester United
Ferrari vs Porsche
stupid question vs meaningless wondering

who effin' cares if one has something the other has or doesn't have or envy or may not envy or had a bigger bum and smaller tits

honestly

Where is this option Urs. I can't find it

As I said: Zebra 2.5 (not yet out) or current betas (hard to find, but available somewhere in the "oscillator brightness" thread)

Nice! I downloaded the betas, but have not had much chance to work with them lately. Even now I really should be sleeping but am still working on finishing a project (except my posting here means I'm procrastinating). I'll look to try this now... I'm curious.

I dont know if the original poster was asking the question to help decide which to use, but I think every synth has it's pros and cons so just go with whatever works best for you.

In terms of features & the depths you can go to, as already stated Zebra is modular so there are loads more possibilities than with Sylenth. (I've not looked at sylenth in any great depth and I dont use it so please correct me if I'm wrong)

As to which sounds best that is entirely up to the person listening to them! What sounds good to you might not sound good to someone else.

They're both tools to do a job and they both sound great.

Nothing to envy in my opinion

Nah, that should be it. Just look in the oscillator tab...

(I'm sorry, after about 20 posts in the forums this morning I'm a bit exhausted... that's why I keep them short)
