Not yet... I think...polyfonken wrote:that explains a lotUrs wrote: Sorry, yeah... I havn't had the time to add it to other skins...are there other 2.3.2 features that we can currently only find in the standard skin?
But the final Z2.5 will have 12 ModMatrix slots. And the "OSC Reset" button will be replaced by a drop down menu (with the "iterate" flag set to "yes" so that it cycles through 3 states when clicking). Plus, two buttons for undo/redo.
We'll see... it's going to be a mjor thing, it'll take some time to explain all the differences. Thankfully though you can use the gui editor by then. Updating existing skins will thus be simple.

To the OP: I've been using Z2 for a while now. Then I heard of Sylenth and all this praise how it sounds so awesome and full of win.. so I thought I'd give it a spin..
I tried it and thought to myself "sounds pretty sweet"! But after a few minutes, I started 'cloning' the sylenth presets with Z2, and felt that the patches that I cloned into Zebra actually sounded better than the Sylenth ones, especially without FX
)
One last nail to the coffin: Sylenth has no microtuning support. Zebra has had this for a long time. I consider microtuning to be essential in a modern softsynth.

What's microtuning? Do you mean tuning the Osc's in detail?

microtuning is the ability to configure the tone generators to use other musical scales than the western 12-semitones per octave, like indian, african, arabic and other esoteric tunings.

Actually, these scales can be downloaded (there are a huge number of them) and then just uploaded into Zebra. It's easy. You don't have to create them yourself.elxicano wrote:You've got company!grandmasterbird wrote:Ah I see. Not at all. Sylenth1 is a great synth. Zebra 2 is a great synth. It IS possible to love and use both.billstei wrote:Oh this is just greatnow I find out that Sylenth1 has a bigger bum and smaller tits.
FWIW, CM gave both synths 10/10, and both are routinely featured in their tutorial details.
Urs generously gave the world ZebraCM which I use quite a bit. I bought Sylenth1 during a group buy for something like a nickel.
Now while my music doesn't really require me to buy any more synths, I am saving my pennies for Urs' highly regarded Uh-bik (sp?) effect series.
Cheers

I own both. And USE both.
They compliment each other quite well in my book. Clearly two distinct entities, however that is exactly how the pair co-exist in my eyes. As different as night and day - but both having their rightful place.
