HELP ! I was able to update my vmachine fine until this new version. The update function used to work until I updated VFX to v2009 0327 build 35, now I turn on the vmachine while holding the learn keys, the update firmware message comes up, then when I run vfx, the vmachine says connected, but either vfx freezes and I cant access the orange menu items, or I get to where I can select update vfx and nothing happens. I was able to do an update with the previous version of vfx with no problem... BTW, no other midi devices were connected when I did this....

I have tried with both starting VFX 1st then turning on vmachine and vice-versa, either way vfx freezes... Please, any help will be greatly appreciated !!! If not how can I go back to a previous build ???

Has anyone ever tried to use The Grand (1 or 2) with V-Machine?
Does it work?

Its kinda dream, I know.....it'll never run....but just to be sure

Follow up:

Tech support was right on the ball on this one, they correctly diagnosed the problem as a conflict with my virtual midi driver(Maple Midi), I un-installed the driver and the update worked after that !! Now to play with my usb key and start loading goodies !

This tidbit is for anyone having issues with having to un-install your virtual midi cable to use VFX:

I did some research and found one program that works and does not freeze VFX, it has zero latency(WDM based), and allows you to "mute" it before you go into VFX, it is called LoopBe1 and it works like a charm, and it is well recommended as a great virtual midi cable, so far it works fine here with VFX, you can get it free here:

another recommended one is the Sony Virtual router, also free, but I have not tried it since the above did the trick:

I just tested the Sony Virtual Router(Virtual Midi Cable) with VFX, it hangs it too, therefore the only virtual midi cable so far that I found works with VFX is LoopBe1 !!!

Hi everyone,
this is my very first post here !

I painfully (thanks to SM-Pro support) updated my v-machine a couple of days ago.
So now I can add new plugs to my v-machine...

Everything went ok with Tweakbench Tapeworm (nice little 4 banks mellotron) (without any wizard file)...

I bought a couple of years ago the Korg Legacy Collection (the one with the MS20i controller + Ms20/Polysix+Wavestation plugs - no synchrosoft stuff at this time)

I'm desperately trying to export it (via usb) to my v-machine...

May anyone be kind enough to take some time to write a step-by-step how-to ?

the idea would be to replace my laptop+forte ensemble for playing live with my band... (i only use mellotron sounds + ms20 and Poylsix sounds - sometimes one layer of MS20 + one layer of Polysix...)

Those 3 plugins have wizard files down in the user area at the bottom of the page at the following link. Created for version 1.0.0.2

Since we are not able to source and test such an old verson we do not know if the wizards work, feel free to try them out and let us know if they do. They probably will if you have a version number similar to the above number.

Some videos here show how to get different plugins working, the process is the same for every plugin. It is usually only the authorisation process which is different as every plugin has different copy protection.

hi...
I'm using the 1.0.0.2 version (latest version doesn't work with the wizard file)
I own the Korg Legacy Collection w/ MS20 controller, but I can't authorize the 1.0.0.2 version anymore on korguser.net ! They only give codes for the latest update...
Since the 1.10 version is not supported by the v-machine (at least there are no wizard file) I had to download an "illegal" 1.0.0.2 old version of the software ! (can you imagine how absurd it is ?!)

- I downloaded the MS20 1.0.0.2 wizard file on SM Pro Audio website.
- Installed the Korg Legacy Collection on my computer (pc w/xp sp2).
Everything seems ok with vfx software, wizard file, etc...
(it works like a charm on the pc+vfx soft)
- I exported the Machine to a USB drive.
(banks + plugs folder were there. the "state" file too.)
- I inserted the USB drive into the V-Machine.
The MS20 bank is detected.
- I "confirmed" to load it...
- "Loading : MS20 (the bank name). Please wait..." is displayed.
- And nothing more !
With a MS20 1.10 version it displayed "No plugin" or other error messages, but with this version it keeps loading the plug-in forever.

I think i need some help.
I didn't submit a ticket on SM-Pro Audio since this plug-in version is not "supported" and thought it would be better to ask to the v-machine users here.

I also tried to to copy the files manually.

Hi,

I've got two questions for V-Machine owners:
- When you use instrument plugins during live performances do you use them purely/mainly as solo instrument or do you layer the plugin with other plugins (e.g. percussion + piano) ?
- Would you use an instrument plugin (e.g. piano with very good polyphony) if it would use up all the processing power the V-Machine can offer in live performances meaning that no other plugin can be loaded or be active at the same time ?

Hi Roel,
I would be very happy to have 1 great piano sound (like truepianos) working in the v-machine. I play piano in jazz groups and do regular solo piano gigs.
As of now, I carry one speaker only (powered ev sxa 100) so 1 great piano in the v-machine that sounds decent in mono would be a dream..
if the mono setting isn't possible I would consider carrying two speakers.

If you want a mono output from any plugin which does not have the option then simply use a plugin like this one.

Its a free plugin which to create mono just place the left and right sliders to the C center position.

Just tested it myself and it does not need a wizard file and works great. So long as you have a few % of free cpu power that will solve the problem of getting a mono output.

Well, I mean that there are no "official" V-Machine Wizard files... And I definitely understand why !

I own the 1.10 version of the MS20 and Polysix and still cannot get them working on my V-Machine...

I was able to get Polysix v1.0.0.2 to work, but many attempts at getting the Wavestation to work have failed. I haven't tried the MS20.
