I asked this question to a Muse tech guy, and it did not sound like the release would be any time soon. My understanding is that 1.8 was created specifically to resolve issues in Receptor 2, and does not address any improvements on 1.7 for Rev C's.

Except the Addictive Drums 1.1.1 that I thought could work on my Receptor won't until 1.8 is release for us lowly v1 owners. *sigh* Maybe the Amplitube series will be a supported install too!

An official reply to this thread would be great. Obviously, many of us are waiting for an upgrade for various reasons. I've been waiting several months for Ivory to work on a machine I bought with Ivory specifically in mind (when I bought it the compatibility issues weren't listed anywhere). Omnisphere is another program that's been left behind that I would love to use on my Receptor. I know it's a tough challenge to make a product compatible with so many programs but Receptor was/is advertised as a comprehensive plug-in machine. After spending a couple thousand dollars and many months waiting, I'm beginning to regret my purchase. Hopefully an upgrade will come out before my regret forces me to sell the receptor and move on. If I at least knew the timetable for an upgrade, it could help me plan better.

KKeys,
I have Ivory running on my Receptor 2 Pro - just reinstalled it a few months ago from my Receptor rev C. Why are you unable to install Ivory on your Receptor? There is an installer on Plugorama. I know it's been said before, but Ivory runs great on Receptor. I hope you are able to get it running on yours.

I bought Ivory as version 1.7. I don't have access to 1.6 and don't want to send the entire unit to Muse to have them install 1.6. I'm assuming you have 1.6...or is there a way to install 1.7?

KKeys,
Indeed my DVD is 1.6. However, I did not use the installer on the DVD. I used the Plugorama installer and just copied over the Ivory Libraries from the DVDs. It might be worth a call to Muse support to verify this, or just give it a try. You do have to go to the Synthogy web site to get the non ilok authorization code (to authorize Ivory). There's a special area for Challenge/Response authorization on the site if I recall.
I hope I'm recalling all this correctly, it's not my intention to send you on a non-productive chase. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I have contacted Muse and there is something special about the 1.7 library. I think it has something to do with a newer copyright protection system but I might be wrong. Either way, thanks for trying to help!!

As an Omnisphere owner, I can only endorse KKeys earlier post.
I have posted a query regarding Omnisphere compatibility which has had over 650 views but no one from Muse has come on to bring us up to date. When Omnisphere was launched, Eric from Spectrasonics stated that the Muse guys were all big Spectrasonics fans and expected that it wouldn't be long before we were able to use Omnisphere on the Receptor, but since then ...........nothing.
Given the marketing of the Receptor as " the smarter, faster, and better way to run your favorite virtual instruments and effects", its lack of compatibility with many VST's out there is frustrating and moveover, the lack of response from Muse to my query represents a serious lack of customer support. It is this lack of support which would deter any new purchaser of the instrument.
Receptor 2 is advertised as being faster, hungrier and with more memory ... but this doesn't run Omnisphere either !
Please Muse, can you let us know what is happening regarding future VST compatibility ?

I have to say, that I have found the receptor to be a massive disappointment. Great idea, but always too slow in implementation of plug-ins. I cant use Reaktor 5 (will install but not register), I cant use Garritan Jazz or orchestra, because the versions I have uses the Kontakt player, I cant use Omnisphere. To leave those of us behind who initially brought in to this company by purchasing the Receptor 1 is I think a mistake.

KKeys,
That is unfortunate. I recall Muse mentioning in another thread that Ivory (and Omnisphere) are priorities. The wait is frustrating many customers.

What I don't understand is why the documentation and how tos for creating an installer aren't published at the Muse site.
Muse could treat installer development as an Open Source project.
If they were nice maybe reward the developers with a $1.00 a download royalty from plugorama.
I know they dont want to be responsible for someone trashing their Receptor but some are hackers by nature.

Great posts above guys and I couldn't agree more.
Receptor 1 owners who have purchased the instrument and contributed towards the financial welfare of Muse shouldn't be brushed aside in favour of Receptor 2 users. Not all of us can afford to upgrade to Receptor 2 and in view of the lack of "service" we are getting from Muse, I wouldn't wish to line their pockets any more. However, as I mentioned in a previous post, Receptor 2 doesn't accept Omnisphere either, or all those other VST's that we would like to use (NI Komplete Classics, Korg Legacy, Arturia Minimoog, to name but a few)
I'm not sure whether they would allow someone to design an installer as it could mess everything up, although I suppose they could invite ideas from users which they could then test themselves before unleashing them to the wider public.
I think it is essential that something be done to allow (current) non supported plugins to become compatible, as otherwise Muse are going to lose a lot of potential customers out there as well as existing customers who won't (out of principle) upgrade to Receptor 2.
I appreciate that Muse is a small company and has limited resources; however, its customer focus and service do leave a bit to be desired.
Please Muse .. listen to us !!
