Receptor 1.8

It is ridiculous that we can't even have a supported install for things that come preloaded on "branded" Receptor 1s! How long until the Amplitube series is available on anything other than the IK-branded Receptor 1?? I find that puzzling.

I am waiting for v1.8 to be released too... hoping it will solve the Stylus RMX update issue on Receptor. The new features available are soooooo cool!

We are sending out drives to beta test 1.8 on Rev C Receptors this week. We hope to announce the 1.8 availability via hard drive swap when we release the 1.8 update, which is still in development but should go to beta in the next couple of weeks.

The good news is that our in-house tests with 1.8 on Rev C works very well!

What features are you talking about? Do you have a link to this?

Thanks in advance,

I have Ivory running on my Receptor 2 Pro - just reinstalled it a few months ago from my Receptor rev C. Why are you unable to install Ivory on your Receptor? There is an installer on Plugorama. I know it's been said before, but Ivory runs great on Receptor. I hope you are able to get it running on yours.

Here's my experience, which might answer your question. I started with Ivory 1.6 (challenge/response authorization) on my Mac, upgraded to 1.7 (iLok authorization), got the iLok, then bought a Receptor 1. Go to install Ivory 1.7 on the Receptor - no dice - you need Receptor O/S 1.8, which is not available for the Receptor 1. Ok, I'll install Ivory 1.6 - no dice - can't get a challenge/response code from Synthogy once you have upgraded to an iLok version. So, until either (i) Synthogy changes their mind or (ii) Muse releases 1.8 for Receptor 1, I am dead in the water. And offloading Ivory from the Mac was one of the primary reasons I purchased the Receptor.

This is my experience. Perhaps I'm missing something.

If I am correct, then I would like to second other statements to the effect that while there's a ton of information on Muse/KVR/Plugorama sites, the sites are curiously silent about these nitty-gritty compatibility issues. How hard would it be to create a table that lists say the top 50 plug-ins and whether they can be installed on Receptor 1 or Receptor 2? Maybe it exists already, and I have yet to find it.

I'll most likely have to put the Receptor on Ebay and buy another computer.

Hi Lionel

I was in exactly the same situation as you. I sent an email to Synthogy, and explained the situation. I also explained that the Receptor was my 'gigging' rig and my Mac was my studio rig - and that neither were used together at the same time (this falls under the 'proper use' terms of their license). I then sent them the (Receptor) Ivory 1.6 challenge code (plug + Italian Grand), and they sent me the proper response codes.

Hope this helps, Regards,

For those who have Receptor 2 (1.8 OS), I suppose the advantage of using the ilok system is that Ivory can be used on several different computers, whether in the studio, or on gigs....just a matter of taking the ilok wherever you need it. Would be so easy to misplace though :-o

It can be convenient but I personally have two iLoks - one for Receptor stuff and one for the rest. Once I get updated to 1.8 and stable I'll probably put the iLok in the port inside the unit and forget about it.

What will your charge be for this? Can I provide my own drive? Can I provide any size drive?
