Uhbik X question

At least based on the demo of Uhbik your effects sound far superior to the similar ones in the Ensoniq, at least in my opinion. Then again, I was one who never really liked the DP-4. I liked it's very flexible nature and some of those quirky "add on" disk effects for the EPS/ASR but surely it could never me considered "high end" in any way? Remember, Eventide came out with it's killer around the same time (the H3000 I believe).Urs wrote:Berfab, I've been an Ensoniq zealot and will always be. Even though my DP-4 died on me, as did the Polypressure of my beloved EPS16.
However, it may baffle some people but I think the Ensoniqs also had that kind of phantastic user interface that I was talking about before. Once one learned the 3-button sequences it was *very* fast to work with.
Oh... and of course... Uhbiks are not seeking to emulate the sound of the DP-4. Even though I studied their maker's papers exhaustively.
Cheers!

The worst way (for me) to look at it is this: I bought my first synth and played in my first synth-based band closer to the start (!) of World War II than to the present day...groundhum wrote:Try looking at it in terms of the percentage of your life since Ensoniq folded. OTOH none of us can say we played at the first Stonehenge Free Festival ... or, in fact, at Stonehenge, period. That is just too coolHoward wrote:The worst way (for me) to look at it is this: I bought my first synth and played in my first synth-based band closer to the start (!) of World War II than to the present day...

We ("Zorch") played our EMS Synthis close to the stone circle. I remember that bit well! Then I remember smoking something, then...er... what was the question again?billstei wrote:We were too drunk to remember what we did at Stonehenge.
