Can mDrummer be remote controlled by external MIDI

Hi,
In spite of being a Mac person, I'm considering mDrummer for my MacBook Pro Bootcamp XP partition.
However, my planned setup would be to run mDrummer as a standalone on the MB Pro, receiving and transmitting MIDI from/to my main G5 machine running DP 5 or Logic or Live, and piping the audio from mDrummer via my RME Fireface 400, connected to the MB P/XP to my Metric Halo MIO 2882 on my G5.
So I guess my question is this: can mDrummer be completely remote controlled by external MIDI in standalone mode while retaining all features?
In other words, would my proposed setup use the 'intelligence' of mDrummer in a seamless way?
EDIT: By 'completely controlled', I mean of course also listening to tempo and song position info from the (hopefully!) controlling Mac sequencer in the main G5 machine./EDIT
If yes, I'd probably jump off the fence and join the group buy (still only at 28 takers, apparently, although there's still time until the 28th). If not, I guess I'd have to wait until the promised(?) Mac version is launched.
Best regards,
Joachim

Hi Joachim,
I'm afraid this doesn't seem so possible. I'm not sure if synchronization via MIDI is even possible. But the good news is that we already started porting to Mac, so hopefully in a few months...
Cheers!

Hi Vojtech,
Thank you for the heads up! I suspected as much, but I wanted to get it from the horse's mouth, as it were.
Have you decided on an upgrade policy for GB:ers that want the Mac version when it becomes available?
Since I'm currently in East Timor with, at best, a very iffy Internet connection, I can't download the free/demo version for evaluation before the group buy ends (I return to my native Sweden on July 1). So, in essence, I'd be buying blindfolded. A sweet deal on a Mac update would probably help me down off the fence…
Ciao!

Hi Joachim,
when the Mac version is released, it would be for everyone who already bought it of course. However I cannot guarantee, that there will be a Mac version. It is possible, that we run to some fatal trouble. You never know. I hope not thought

Hi Vojtech,
Thank you for talking straight!
I guess that the proper time for me to buy into MDrummer would be when (if?) the Mac version is actually up and working. BTW, when you get that to the beta testing stage, I'd be happy to offer my services. I've done my share of beta testing, I have Intel and PPC Macs and use both Tiger and Leopard.
Best of luck with the conversion!
