Sounds like Drumkit From Hell and BFD just got themselves some competition ;-)

Now Santa ... that wishlist I gave you ... can I alter it a bit?

How does that work again?

2.5 snare imperial snares = 1.02 metric bass drums? Umm.... :!:

This package seems SEVERELY over priced. Drums is the most populated library in the sample market. DFH is under $100.00, 400.00 for Scarbee drums???? Scarbee, what are you thinking?

Imperials Drums has 12 GB of samples (3 DVDs) and extensive programming. Look at the online manual before you make conclusions.

f**k paying for drums, just go to ManyTones site or Kavala and get the best samples

Who the f**k wants a snare recorded with 11 different microphones with 43 velocity levels????

If you can tell the diff in between level 31 on mic 5 and level 35 on mic 6 in the middle of a mix.....your a fuckin liar :P

Get with the program people, make your own kits

You know it makes sense

Take your general point, I like manytone kits too, but still can't agree with you.

Words is one thing, but the ears don't lie where BFD is concerned.

BFD is a whole new concept in drums.

It's not just the samples, or the mic positioning, or the really clever mixer, or the stunning grooves, or the quick and easy interface, but the whole thing taken together, and the sound it ultimately delivers ... well, try it is all I'm saying.

Have a decent go, rack up some grooves, stick a bass over it, and judge then.

It looks like a very nice set .... but ...

Does anyone remember the 80's when the LinnDrum and Sequential DrumTrax was used on hundreds of major hits without even 4 meg of samples? Or maybe the 90's when a huge number of 4 and 8 meg drum machines were heavely used. I think we are getting to a point where good programming will make more difference than the number of samples. The left side of my brain would love to have this 12 Gig kit, but the right side would refuse to go through 1000's of samples while searching for "just the right sound".

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Thing is, DFH isn't totally convincing. So maybe this could be. DFH doesn't have enough velocity layers. It all depends what style of music you're making.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

It's just a single kit too. So people with loads of cash might want this and BFD. And the new DFH.

isnt the real problem with this stuff playing legato (or whatever the term is) ie the wierd interactions you get if you hit a cymabl or a tom that is already sounding

dfh doesnt sort it, bfd doesnt either - i think this might - i cant see why you would need so many velocity layers otherwise

That was the beauty of things like DR-008's choke groups. They actually didn't employ that in BFD? Haven't looked. Waiting for the bugs to get sorted out before I look anyway. Least that's the right start in the right direction. Guess I need to go look.
