the Randomize Preset feature could be improved!

Hi Lennard,

if you have spare time, and if you're wondering what you could improve in Sylenth1, I would suggest the "randomize preset" feature. I enjoy playing with this feature in many synths, but, in Sylenth1, this feature is not very good.

ATM, this feature is barely usable since the generated presets are mostly very, very, very poor sounds or noisy sounds (when audible!). I think it would be cool if you could improve the way Sylenth1 generates random sounds (for example, having osc's volume set to 0 is a thing that occurs really often!).

Actually, we know that Sylenth1 can deliver a cool sonic experience, but I barely find cool sounds using Sylenth1's "randomize preset" feature :(. So, I think, it's definitively a feature that can be improved... a lot!

Moreover, in Sylenth1, the "randomize" feature isn't very convenient to use since we have to click on "menu", first, and then, we have to click on the "randomize preset" option. A dedicated button somewhere on Sylenth1's GUI would be so much more handy :)

Thank you, Lennard, for Sylenth1, and keep up the good work!

I'd second that, but maybe go a bit farther. Some intelliget patch breeding would be ool. Allow the user to determine the degree of randomisation would be nice.

If you have Phrazor you can do this for any vst! Maybe other hosts too.

That's because randomizing the parameters is a really poor way of designing sounds. The only reason it's there is because it might lead to some interesting new ideas in some cases.

Instead you would benefit much more if you would focus on some basic synthesis techniques and learn how to operate Sylenth1 and design the sounds you are looking for. Then you can use the randomizer as an addition to that, to create some new interesting sounds and edit them to your likings.

What would be if you searching a special sound? Clicking hundert times on the randomize-button? :D

Random is a think which no synth need. Programming on your self(good lern-effect) oder factory libarys, or buy soundsets which match your style of music... but with random you will sitting hours there till a good sounds coming out :hihi:

There is a utility (called Enigma Engine) for another synth I use that is pretty cool, lets you adjust certain parameters and can use sounds from different soundsets, then generates whole banks of new sounds for you. Something like this would be nice for Sylenth1. Maybe not built-in to it, but a separate utility like that.

Not all the sounds it came up with were super-great, but some were pretty good or at least not bad.
