The factory-sounds are for a synth one elemental important thing... :D

But to many developers forgot this, what have they from a good synth,m when the user dont can hear his potential because the factory is too bad(z.b. blofeld)

Some people don't have the time, inclination or ability to produce patches from scratch. Why not just leave it to the experts? Tweaking rules!

What I learned from that is if Lennard falls silent or seems to be ignoring the current topic don't panic. You never know, a new version could drop today out of the blue. I won't make the mistake of selling Lennard short again. I'll have patience this time around..............
Posting takes time - a lot of it. At the beginning I was responding about my Elektrostudio plugins but then I stopped. Why ? I realised that it just takes too much time I could spent on developing the product. Probably Lennard is doing the same - focusing on writing the code :)

But buisness is buiness, if you elease a product for money, you must support our buyers. If he have no time for support, than he should write on his hp at the release "but i have after release, or perhaps after the next groupbuy no time for support"

this situation atm is not seriously!

I dont know if I have been misquoted but in my previous post I mentioned that I originally wanted Largo but the lack of presets had turned me off. What I failed to say was that I thought that for a synth with the pedigree of Waldorf could have offered more than the bank of 128. Especially in this time of economic depression they could of offered a couple more banks or bang for buck.
People definitely consider this as a purchase factor, just as they do about dongles or support. Now at the moment Synth Squad is offering over 700 presets and has had a few top designers on hand. Competition is tight at the moment and profit margins will be down if the right decisions are not made.

Also certain people do things better than others. Builders hardly get a chance to finish there own house because they are too busy building someone elses and I think one can apply that analogy to many different practises. (Doctors are sick, Psychiatrists are mad, Dentists have bad breathe )

I for one am grateful for people like Rob Lee who's soundbanks I have used in projects and wish him well with his quest to do something with Largo. I know he will offer something of extreme value for money.

Anyway you may get time to tweak to call your sound unique but I wont freak because you speak.
Cheers

Hi like i mentioned in another thread..back in january when i heard about Largo i emailed Waldorf and asked if they would like me to do a preset bank for the release of Largo..however i got no reply and for me i'll only ask once then never again..i learnt a couple of things whilst doing this job and one of them is that "if you ain't in the click" you ain't getting a reply nomatter who you are..so from now i won't ask this to any other developer in future because at least they should have the decency to reply hehe..i don't blame Waldorf at all but they have their own in house sound design team..i just suggested i do a bank but was not replied too :(
Anyway no lost sleep..my Sylenth 1 bank has had great support and if an updated version comes out i know my way around Sylenth enough now that i will do more banks for sure..
Oh and i won't talk Largo on here from now as this is Lennar Digital support forum..
sorry Lennard

Thanks

Rob :)

Anyone can have the ability to program patches. It takes time, yes, but it's time very well spent. As with anything the more experienced you get, the quicker you'll program the sound you're after. There is no better way to really get to know the instrument and to come up with unique timbres. Using a synth as a glorified rompler has no appeal to me at all. It probably comes down to the type of sound/music you're looking to create.

People need to relax. Lennard has stated that any updates are free to registered users, BUT technically Lennard DOESN"T need to update anything if he chooses not to.

People received what they paid for. Sylenth is extremely stable as is and the beauty of the keyfile copy protection is that you don't have to depend on anything but your backup to reinstall it if needed.

With this being said I'm sure that if Lennard was discontinuing Sylenth he would have made an announcement. He's just focused on coding for a decent sized update. If you have any real support issue(s) just email him and he'll respond.

plz read all post before you make a post. Then you can read, that i also send him an email, but no answer cames, only some postings by lennard in the present sharing area... and also i wonder why he post there but not in a topic which talks about the missing support....

A few days ago you sent an email talking about possible enhancements you'd like to see ?

If you had a problem using the product, I'd expect a replay within a few days to a week (assuming the email got through), but there's no reason to expect an instant response if you're asking when new functionality will arrive.

Here's hoping to Poly AT, Skins, Bug Fixes, More Wavetables, probably a few more I'm forgetting.. Seems like this would keep a one man synth maker busy, hopefully Lennard knocks the next update out the park..Something tells me he will do just that.

Largo contains 250 patches but no bank files. You have to make your own bank with e.g. MiniHost or your DAW. I just published 49 PPG style patches at KVR and more will follow. As far as i saw in the forums more patches from other people will follow later.
Sylenth1 and Largo could not be really compared, only in some features. Sylenth1 is an analog synth emulation and Largo's strength is the wavetable synthesis (68 wavetables / all wavetables of the PPG Wave + Microwave). Both sound awesome and complement well.

About Sylenth1: At the moment i don't really need another update and the amount of available patches is enormous.

UPDATE: I found around 9 posts of Lennard in the last 4 weeks. Doesn't look like he "disappeared".
