I guess you are mostly right. I own both and like them both. Massive has a better patch browser and many more soundbanks are available. Sound wise i like Largo more at the moment which doesn't mean Massive is bad. For programming patches Largos GUI is as least as good if not better than Massive's. Massive is even more CPU hungry than Largo (yes, Largo is CPU hungry when you use the all features), that's Massives biggest downside.zvenx wrote:Naively or otherwise I think Massive is its closest competitor.
I much prefer the look of Massive and the whole GUI including patch organising etc....but I prefer the sound of Largo.... However there is no way I can justify the current price. At the very least it needs to be at the same price as Massive for me to consider buying it. But thanks for the demo, allows us to find out for ourselves first hand.

The price is no big difference, 199 Euros for Largo and 189 Euros for Massive at Largo. If you count that the Largo CD contains the Waldorf Edition LE they are equal in that point.
It's difficult to find a specific reason to buy Largo if you already own Massive but i guess it's all about the sound. If you like the Waldorf sound and want to recreate some sounds of the Waldorf hardware this is a must have, if mot stay with Massive. Another serious contender for Largo is Kubik which has an insane high amount of features for the wavetable modulation. Besides having all Waldorf wavetables Kubik doesn't sound like a Waldorf if that's what you're up to (i only checked the demo of Kubik 2.5 but that should be enough).
