Hardware Sequencer to work with Receptor rev. c .version 1.6

Hi

Does anyone know of a hardware sequencer I can attach to my Receptor. I have a midi keyboard and a set of VST instruments - but I cannot get any software that will offer some sort of sequencer.

I'm happy with the sounds on the receptor, so Id just like the sequencer to enable me to make sequences and nothing else, Im not looking for any sort of 'tonebank' functionality.

A good display would help - although its not the end of the world if the box doesn't have it.

Im just looking for something that will enable me to layer one track on top of the other using the sounds in the Receptor (which currently connects to my keyboard via standard MIDI). Anything that has a similar workflow to the mpc (i.e. select track - record - select new track - record...) would be great. Step editing isn't really important, what Im looking for is something that will let me record in tracks live.

Any help/advice welcome.
Thanks
Mark

Hi,

You said it: MPC! It works great and the sequencer is probably one of the bests available... (I've had an MPC 2000xl for almost 10 years and I loved it... I still wonder why I sold it actually) The problem is the price, you must spend quite a lot of money to get one of these.

Otherwise, if editing is not that important to you, you can get one of these old E-mu E series samplers (like the e6400, or the Ultra models). They have a sequencer, but with limited editing functions (it rather serves as a scratch pad...).

Yamaha also made some kind of portable sequencers: the QY series, but I don't know much about these...

Hope this helps
