Lotuzia wrote:Did you read my message just above in this page Bulent ? ( Answer to Midi CC control-Mod Whell aso) ( Cos you were typing one while I was writing mine so not sure you saw it )
Yes, I did indeed.

I'm gonna add commonly used MIDI CC's as modulation sources as well.
But that means breaking older presets, so I'd better finish that in 1-2 days.

My advice to you folks is, dont rush into creating presets for the next 3-5 days until everything settles down :)
Not sure if will break the older presets. If you have some separate classes for the different types you could just add objects for these classes and increase their ID. ( So old presets should preserve their integrity)

Otoh if you ave only one class for all modulations sources and that the modulations dropdown menu displays them by ID number ......... :?

Well dunno if what I say is clear :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

Anyway if something is not so clear just ask and I'll do all my possible to (try to) make it more understandable :)

Here's a fixable heads up.

In FLStudio, you have to turn on "Use Fixed Size Buffers", or else the synth produces nasty crackles at 106 BPM on down.

Oh yes, I remember something like that in v1.0

FLStudio used to send different lengths of buffers each time!
No other host do that as far as I remember.

SynthMaster works in multiples of its internal buffer size (which is a multiple of 4, between 16-64). It's a multiple of 4 as we do SSE processing in some places.

Hmmm just add mod wheel and CC4 ( Foot controler) to the + or Multiply ùodulations sources menu options first (in the midi sub menu). Thats how most of the synths work. It allows you to control tremoloe strength (or speed) with the mod wheel for example. Mod Wheel and Foot Controller ar used in real time, while playing, to modulate the instrument. So usually you start from the specifed value (in the preset ) and add or remove something.
I'm adding the following MIDI CCs:

CC01-Modulation Wheel
CC02-Breath controller
CC04-Foot Pedal
CC05-Portamento Time
CC07-Volume
CC10-Pan
CC11-Expression

CC64 Hold Pedal
CC65 Portamento
CC66 Sustenuto
CC67 Soft Pedal
CC68 Legato Pedal

CC70 Sound Variation
CC71 Timbre
CC72 Release Time
CC73 Attack Time
CC74 Brightness
CC75 Sound Control 6
CC76 Sound Control 7
CC77 Sound Control 8
CC78 Sound Control 9
CC79 Sound Control 10

CC91 Reverb
CC92 Tremolo
CC93 Chorus
CC94 Celeste
CC95 Phaser

I think they should be enough for now :)

More than enough.  :hihi:

Bulent, You might want to add the possibility of linkink a midi CC to the Easy knobs too. ( And indeed it will be the best for real time complex mangling, if I did understand the paradigm that easy knobs can also mean complex things done easily with a single knob  )

As they are the Easy knobs are not so usefull if you cant control them in real time ( Just my opinion there ).

OK, I just uploaded the 1.9.9.7 build. It's quite huge, 40 MB :)

It's 3:27 AM now, so I gotto go now!

What's new?

1. Click on the "New" button and you see the list of skins 8)
2. Added filter spectrum view control so that visually you can see the filter response (try the basic skin!)
3. Added 128 factory waveforms license from Galbanum.
4. fixed some UI issues.

Just wipe out the previous builds (of v2.0), otherwise you might get errors.

Enjoy!

1.) The new version 1.9.7 will crash every time if you try to use some old presets. You have to delete all old presets. Best is to delete the complete old folder before copying the new one. You already warned about that in your post above.

2.) Using all waforms for the wavetable works now. Now there are really lots of them. Very nice !! :D

3.) Where is the spectrum view for the filters ?? I just can't find it.

4.) What about adding OSC3 and LFO3/LFO4 to the default skin (below the envelopes and LFO1/LFO2)?? At the moment LFO 3/4 is only available with the switch only the left side (below layers).

5.) A switch to delete a current custom waveform would be nice. Factory waveforms should be protected against deleting.

UPDATE: Looks like that filter spectrum view is only in the "Basic skin", not in the "Default skin".

I just discovered how to use the skins for the patches. You have to use the switch for a new patch and then could use the skin. Very nice. Some things seem to be difficult to find without a manual...

I guess the hardest work after finishing the synth is providing a reasonable amount of presets. That will be difficult to do before the synth itself is finished.

My plan is to finish missing features by the end of next Friday (July 31st)

The week after that I'm on "vacation". Quoted, because I'll be probably writing manuals and preparing videos during that week whenever I can find some time.

Hopefuly mid-August we have some sort of documentation.

Cool! We'll probably add "category" for each waveform, as the number of custom made waveforms will grow pretty soon.
Ingonator wrote: 3.) Where is the spectrum view for the filters ?? I just can't find it.
Right now only the basic skin has that control. I'm gonna update the default skin on Sunday for that. I'm off today and tomorrow!

We have 2 types of LFOs: Voice and Global. The global LFOs are on a separate place as we didnt have enough space. Maybe we can fit them?

Will add that in August. Users will be able to delete any unused/user waveform.

I tried to save the partial settings of oscillator 1 for saving the wavetable but that function doesn't work so far. When you use this Synthmaster crashes.

BTW, I'm planning to add "spectral" view to the osc waveform displays as well.

So when you turn the wave index parameter, you'll see how the spectrum of the osc is changing over time :)

This only occurs when you save osc settings. Probably has to do with waveforms.

The amount of features will give me a headache sometimes but thanks for this. :D
