What I thought was that no matter what is on at any specific moment by Alt clicking any track would make it a Solo. I start MuLab with the Demo song.
Let say I am listening (solo) my Drumz1 line and the I add the Cymbal and then Drumz2. Now I have 3 tracks going.

Then I alt click the Cymbal and you got a Solo Cymbal...so far so good.
Then I Alt click the Drumz1: Drumz1=Mute! :-o , Cymbal and Drumz2 on.
It takes another Alt click on the Drumz1 to make it Solo but then if you go again to Alt click Drumz2: Drumz2=Mute :-o , Drimz1 and Cymbal on.

So from going Solo they go Mute after a specific sequence of clicks. The more you add tracks to the Mute/Solo sequence the more it gets off rule. I hope I am not confusing an internal logic that you have built in but then the context menu would act the same way.

If I use the context menu all this does not happen. It actually works as you intended which is correct.

Sure, that's the case.

Of course if you [Alt]+click a solod track it does unsolo.

Which is logical, no?

Because you Unsolo Drumz1 at this point, cfr context menu.

Ok, i agree that it may indeed be a bit confusing that you're unsoloing a muted track here.

I'll make another test version but this time with a single exclusive solo. It will be easier to understand.

There should be no difference between muting/soloing via [Alt]+click or via context menu.

Can you please tell me where [Alt]+click differs from using the context menu. Thanks.

Here is another short video.
Hopefully it helps.

I see what you are saying I'm UnSolo first and then Solo again.
I thought that the Alt key would give a straight command to Solo and automatically get the other tracks to go Mute but it really follows the Context.
I understand.
It would be nice though to have it that way though. Kind of quick punch in and out...

At this point, never mind the notes on the video
Thank you for keeping up with this.

I've uploaded the MU.LAB 2.6.1 Test B patch for Windows at:

http://www.mutools.com/mulab/patch/mula ... -patch.zip

How to install: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/mulab-upda ... -patch.txt

Is this version more comfortable regarding muting/soloing tracks/racks?

Hi Jo,

I have tried out the new patch "B".

I used 8 tracks and seems to be the best solution so far both context and ALT, very easy to follow and set solo etc.

Probably the best part of these new designs is the unmute all it wipes the board clean.

Liquidsound will need to do his usual testing on this but I think you are going very much in the right direction.

Anyway that my two cents worth.
