Hey Ingo, you rock!Ingonator wrote:
I currently try to use the "Step" and "Glide" mode of the LFOs for wavetable modulation. This results in some interesting "wavesequencing" since you can choose any of the 16 waveforms of a wavetable(and between) at every step. With 16 or 32 steps this leads to interesting results.
BTW, here's another tip: If you wanna change an LFO to a random S&H LFO, make it a "step" lfo, and max out the "randomize" parameter.
Each step is basicly multiplied by:
StepVolume = StepVolume * ( (1-randomize) + randomize * rnd() )
rnd() generates a random number between 0.0-1.0 above.

I just started to use the step modulation but i would never had the idea to use it that way. Very nice hint, again. I guess all those tips should be in the manual of the final version, right?kv331 wrote:Hey Ingo, you rock!Ingonator wrote:

I think it's gonna be easier for me to record a video tutorial first! I'm always slow at writing!

One patch had a default wavetable instead of the right one. Here is the corrected file: LINK DELETED, ALL PATCHES INCLUDED IN SYNTHMASTER v1.9.9.10 AND MY LAST UPDATE FROM 1.8.2009.Ingonator wrote:My new Synthmaster patches update (made with v1.9.9.8 ):

I am trying to transfer some bass patches from Sylenth1 to Synthmaster. This uses two layers so i also did it in Synthmaster.
When i switch Synthmaster from "Poly" to "Mono" mode the second layer is muted, means it does not produce sound anymore. Switching back to "Poly" everything is OK. Does this mean that "Mono" sounds can not be layered? Must be a bug.
UPDATE: The problem occurs when Layer 1 is set to "Mono". If Layer 2 is "Mono" and Layer 1 is "Poly" it works. Strange...
Here is a new Bass patch for testing this:
LINK DELETED, ALL PATCHES INCLUDED IN SYNTHMASTER v1.9.9.10 AND MY LAST UPDATE FROM 1.8.2009.
Try to set Layer 1 (or both) to "Mono" and Layer 2 will be muted.
A second bass patch with only one layer but an additive OSC:
two bass patch with an ARP:
the same patch with "Mono" setting sounds different (more fat ?):
the first lead sound:

If you check out the release notes, we still had that problemo!Ingonator wrote: When i switch Synthmaster from "Poly" to "Mono" mode the second layer is muted, means it does not produce sound anymore. Anyhow, I'll work on it tonight, as soon as I'm done with the microtune interface.

Sorry, i think i missed that somehow. The bass patches also work in poly mode. Most of the new bass patches only use one layer so no problem there.kv331 wrote:If you check out the release notes, we still had that problemo!Ingonator wrote: When i switch Synthmaster from "Poly" to "Mono" mode the second layer is muted, means it does not produce sound anymore. Maybe you could include my new patch update in the new version. The latest one (40 patches) is at the end of my last post above.

I think that the possibilities of Synthmaster are almost endless and sometimes i feel i only scratched the surface.
BTW the same i could say about Largo which is the other synth i "explore" at the moment. Both synths complement each other quite well.

Even if i select the patches in Live's patch browser all patches are default when loading the project.
UPDATE: When i select a patch with Synthmaster browser in Ableton Live the internal patch browser of Live always shows the first patch ("2 Osc Wavetable with Sync"). AFAIK most other synths which use an own browser deactivate the DAWs browser.
