receptor startup with blank

Hi folks,
how can I configure receptor so that it starts with a blank multi?
Currently, on startup, receptor is loading the multi I had running before the last shutdown. This is a problem for sampletekk's black grand, since load time is enormous, furthermore, I have to load it twice due to what must be a bug in kontakt2.
thanks,
mat123

What I do is to change to a blank multi before shutting down, and then the Receptor will start up there.
It does absolutely help to do that and THEN load a large sample library, rather than boot up into a dense multi right away.
Hope this helps,
Phil

Hi Matt
I have just bought a Receptor 2 and by pressing the power button 3 times within 2 seconds, (while holding the multi button down) clears out all the auto loading presets and loads a blank patch.
Comes in handy for me sometimes, as I have Ivory Grands, Italian Grand and Kontakt/Emperor as my main multi
(Not sure if this works with Receptor 1)

thanks PhilAiken and mal7!
mal7, do you use this triple button press for restart or for booting? I use this triple press (without multi button) only for soft reset (I don't have my receptor (v1.7) at hand for testing...).

Hi Matt
"as per manual, pressing the power button 3 times within 2 seconds will initiate a restart, clearing the system and reloading the last auto saved patch. Holding down MULTI while doing this clears out all the auto loading presets and loads a blank patch"
As it suits me to have the last saved patch loaded at bootup, I rarely use this function. I basically use the Receptor as a piano module, and load the save instruments each time

seems this isn't what I was looking for. My problem is: it takes me forever to get my receptor running. During boot, it loads my favourite multi (the one I used befor the previous shutdown), which takes some time. Then I will have to load either the same multi again (bug in kontakt2? not all samples are correctly loaded during receptor's boot-load) or another multi if I happen to do something different than what I did when I last left. I am looking for a solution to save half of this time. As I see it now, a tripple button press wouldn't help me.
So I should stick with PhilAiken and load a blank multi before shutdown. The problem is: after a long gig, I'm tired and I tend to forget...
It could be so easy: just set the defaults so that receptor doesn't save anything before shutdown and doesn't load anything after boot.
Muse? Think of this, please!

I personally find it convenient for the Receptor to load my last used Multi....just switch it on and I have my favorite pianos loaded with all their edits/tweaks. Saves me heaps of time.
At this stage, I find the unit perfect for my needs (apart from the annoying high pitched fan noise on Receptor 2. Apparently this issue is being addressed though)

I wonder what happens if you just pull the AC plug rather than shut down?mat123 wrote:

(make sure the unit is idle of course!)

I had to try it...
Apparently the information is stored before the patch is loaded, so this does not work.

Ahhh, you suggest using fsck to speed up boot-load?johnrule wrote:I wonder what happens if you just pull the AC plug rather than shut down?mat123 wrote:
