Hi folks,

Finally I'm done with the microtune stuff. In the coming 1.9.9.10 version, we have a microtune editor on the default skin:

Image

I separated the tune as coarse+fine so that the two can be independently tuned.

Each layer has its own microtune settings, so if you think each layer like a piano string, you can tune them independently!

And of course, as in all other parts of SynthMaster, microtune settings can be saved as "partial" presets.

In the future, we can support loading tuning files, how about that? :)

Ingonator wrote::!: I found that in Ableton Live 8 the VST version does not save the selected patch with the project. Means that when i start a saved project with several instances all parts load with the default patch. If i didn't miss something obvious this is a serious bug.
Even if i select the patches in Live's patch browser all patches are default when loading the project.

UPDATE: When i select a patch with Synthmaster browser in Ableton Live the internal patch browser of Live always shows the first patch ("2 Osc Wavetable with Sync"). AFAIK most other synths which use an own browser deactivate the DAWs browser.
:!: UPDATE:

I just found that this seems to be a different problem. When i reload a saved Ableton Live project all instances show the name of the default patch (the first patch in the list) in Live's patch browser but if i play sounds they are the ones i saved. The REAL problem is that as soon as i open the GUI of any instance this does a reset to the default patch (patch name: "2 Osc Wavetable with Sync").
So the problem occurs when opening the GUI, not when opening a Live project. I still could select the patches from Live's own browser, I just get the default patch when opening the GUI.

I was able to reproduce this problem. That's the good news! Let's hope I can fix this tonight, as today is my last coding day before coming back from vacation on August 9th

Was an easy fix, thank God! :)

Will be in tonight's build

Here's another one I noticed:

For a mono layer, the very first note you play has some noise/bursts??? Some sort of initialization problem.

Will check this one out.

Again a new update of my Synthmaster 2 patches, now 50 patches (some lead sounds added):

UPDATE:

To all beta testers:

All patches are now contained in Synthmaster version 1.9.9.10 so you only need to download the patches if you want a backup. I will delete all old links since they are not needed any more. I'll only keep the last one.

If you didn't get an email with the Synthmaster 1.9.9.10 update you can use the old download link which you got by email.

Ingo, you rock buddy!

Allright guys, one step towards the beta: Filter spectrums are now displayed to give the user information on the filter frequency response. The user can also edit cutoff/resonance using the spectrum view:

Hopefuly in an hour we're releasing version 1.9.9.10, which will be our "official" Beta version :)

EDIT: The response for the comb filter is missing, I'll add that one next week.

I'm afraid I wont have time left tonight to fix this one, as it is a time consuming one. Maybe if I can find some time during my vacation, I'll fix it. In the worst case, on August 9, it'll be fixed :(

Hi folks,

Well, finally we're releasing version 1.9.9.10. It's 3:47 AM here in Ankara, so use this build at your own risk :D Just kidding! I tested most of the reported issues carefuly, so they should be fixed really!

I gotto go now :) Have fun with SynthMaster until next Sunday! Dont know if there'll be a build until then since I'm on vacation.

Cheers!

Hello Bulent,

v1.9.9.10 is overall a nice release and good as an official beta. I like the visual filter response and the Microtuning. The VST version also remembers the selected patch now when opening the GUI :D

BTW i deleted all links for my patches except the last one.

Here are some missing things, which i maybe already stated before:

1.) When loading an Ableton Live project now, after opening the GUI the right patch is playing but i don't see the name of the current patch. For later work it would be nice to see which patch is currently selected. Maybe the current patch could be also highlighted in the list of the browser.

2.) The bug with the "Mono" mode has to be solved like have written above.

3.) I still don't know if or how the "Easy parameters" work.

4.) You said that the effects will get some more features. Something like the EQ from the old Synthmaster and/or a Phaser would be good. I guess you wanted to implement this in a different way.

5.) The workflow of the GUI editor could be improved a bit, like undo/redo etc.

6.) Some factory patches from KV331 Audio would be nice.

So have a nice vacation, Bulent. You deserve it.

BTW my holidays end at Wednesday, so less time for synths then.

Next week we have at least 5 sound designers starting to work on the presets:

1. Me: Tutorial presets
2. Teoman Pasinlioglu (He's a part of KV331 Audio, and a synth wizard!)
3. Lotuzia
4. Xenos
5. Cyforce
6. Scot Solida

Maybe I'll work on the tutorials first and then I'll hand over the job to the other folks, that might be more efficient for everyone.

EDIT: Forgot to add Lotuzia, sorry about that Laurent, just added your name! BTW, I started to work on the "Quick Start Guide"

Wow, that list of sound designers looks very impressive. Can't wait for the result. :tu:

With all those skills those people will hopefully also find bugs and/or updates we didn't think about so far. This could be done best when programming patches.

Hi folks,

Greetings from Altinyunus, Cesme: http://www.altinyunus.com.tr/sayfa.asp?sayfa=&lang=en

It's really great to be able to vacation for sometime. But as you guys might guess, I can let myself stop working, as it is my greatest hobby :) My little one is asleep right now (He just turned age 1), so I have time to write the "Quickstart Guide". Hopefuly I'll be done with that by the end of the week, and after that I'll issue press releases to tell the world that we're in beta status :)

- When two mod sources are modulating e.g. the cutoff and you take away the left one (setting it to "none")- then the right mod_source isn't displayed (as circle) anymore. Still the right-source-modulation is working - only the display gets blank. Hope the description is clear enough...

- it seems the synth is tuned two semitones to high ???
