Hi all,

does anyone know if its possible to record the arpeggiated notes that the Sylenth generates as MIDI?

What I mean is - if I choose a patch which has an arpeggio, the synth generates a series of notes as it arpeggiates. I would like to be able to record these exact notes and timings out of the synth as MIDI notes.

Its possible to do this in some soft synths but not other simply by plugging the channel in Logic which has the sytnth on into a sequencer input and recording the outputed notes.

Hope this makes sense...any ideas?

cheers

are you saying you want the notes from the arpeggiator to appear in the piano roll in your sequencer?
i don't think this is possible but you could clarify this with Lennard.
i think you need to press what ever chord or note you want to play the arpeggiator then drag the notes to say 1 or 2/3/4 bars (length) or whatever length that suits your needs if you want it to play otherwise you have to play it manually :)
hope you know what i mean but maybe im wrong..it's never worked for me in the way you ask :)

This is an old thread, but I can still answer this.
It is actually possible to do this with some software synths, but it only works if the VST instrument itself supports midi out. Maybe we can mail Lennard and ask for this to be implemented?
I have tried this myself a few times in Ableton Live 8 and it works fine with a VST version that supports midi out of arp. Not sure how this works in other sequencers. A few friends of mine have tried this in Cubase.
SynthMaster and Corona does support midi out of their arpeggiators, and you can record the arp pattern to another midi track. It's a great feature to have.
