just got a used revc and have tried installing both supported and unsupported (but known to work) .dll files as well as upgrading from 1.5 to 1.7 (via 1.6). i think i'm following directions fairly accurately. the machine seems to mount on the mac. i can plunk the software into the correct folder, click install from receptor's gui and then...EVERY SINGLE THING FAILS. repeatedly. anybody care to offer some insight or should i just try to get in touch with muse?

thanks in advance.

In what directory did you put the DLL's?
Try: "Program Files/VST Plugins/Unsupported Plugins"

For supported software make sure you are using the download from Plugorama for whatever you are trying to install and put that in the Drop Installer Here Folder. Plugorama will also tell you whether or not you need to use Direct Install. One other thing that might be happening in some cases is that the software is already installed - check your source list to make sure it's not already on your harddrive. Otherwise, Fedde is correct regarding the unsupported known to work stuff. It sounds like you have already updated to the latest OS available for your model. Good luck -

correct me if i'm wrong, but all revc 1.0 machines can be upgraded to 1.7... and 1.8 on belongs on 2.0 machines. anyhow, i think i should be allowed to upgrade. i'll try moving the files to a different directory. thanks for the advice. i'll keep you posted.

1.7 is fine on rev c, as long as you do each point release in order as it appears you have. 1.8 will work on rev c with a hard drive swap or reformat and isn't widely available for official release now IIRC

"The version 1.8.x software update release will work on RECEPTOR 2 hardware currently running version 1.8.x software ONLY. It cannot be used with version 1.7 systems."

this leads me to believe that 1.8 no worky on my machine, which is fine. i wouldn't care if 1.5 were the end of the road. i just wanna know why i can't upgrade.

anyone reckon using a pc instead of a mac would make any difference?

thanks again.

That's now. It will no worky now for sure. Like I said, with a hard drive swap or reformat it will work down the road. Sorry for the confusion was posting from my phone at the time.
