I admit, I was thinking of all these synths when I brought the subject up. In fact I'd just been reading about John Bowen's Solaris synth which also, I think, allows per oscillator glide (probably per voice too).Vectorman wrote:Indeed. SonicProjects OP-X Pro does it as well (complete with little "trim pots" to let you adjust the glide rate offset per voice) - sounds very nice when you put it in unison mode and have the six stacked voices gliding at different rates.Next impOSCar version will have this, and it's quite a nice "Oberheim" feature.
Improvements!

Doesn't have the required effect. Thought experiment: Mixing a square wave (audio) with a sine isn't the same as LP filtering ithakey wrote:You could get the kind of specific square to sine effect by just mixing two lfos, one square and one triangle/sine of the same freq and phase, in the modmixer, and sweeping from one to the other.

Yep! I'd should really have said 'you can get something that's sort of a bit like the effect of rounding off a square wave if you..etc'.Howard wrote:Doesn't have the required effect. If you superimpose a square wave onto a sine and then change their respective amplitudes, lower the square's amp. and the corners will still be there, but less prominent - is that right? Or have I missed something?

Well nevermind thought experiments - I've just tried the real thing.
Two osc's, one a square wave, the other a sine (using spectroblend), phase set to reset on both osc's, and then sweeping from one osc to the other with mod wheel.
Watched in an oscilloscope, gradually adding sine to the square progressively curves the horizontal part of the square wave away from the x axis and shortens the vertical section (not quite how I'd imagined it would look).
But yes, you don't get the (exponential?) sweep up from min to max value that you'd get putting a square wave through a lag generator.

The oscillator settings can be stored in the default menu as a preset. Is it difficult to implement a copy option in the grid? Lets say Osc1 settings are tweaked, and I want the same settings on Osc2 before I save the preset. This could be done eg. with a right click copy settings from Osc1 to the next Osc2. I am not sure if this is useful for everyone but it can speed up editing when working with many modules. Just a little thought

I've been thinking about something like this... havn't thought about the Grid yet, but maybe that's a good place to do that...replicator wrote:The oscillator settings can be stored in the default menu as a preset. Just save an oscillator as "..." (the default name), then immediately load it into another. A matter of seconds.replicator wrote:Lets say Osc1 settings are tweaked, and I want the same settings on Osc2 before I save the preset.

That's good for now, but a direct link would be nice and elegant... I often find myself wishing for that, tooHoward wrote:Just save an oscillator as "..." Here's a suggestion, maybe doable, maybe not- I'm not a programmer, so I have no idea how difficult it may be to implement:
It would be cool to have an FX send at the bottom of each grid lane, so you can send individual parts of a sound to the FX, keeping the other parts dry.

You can do that already - see the output selectors -> Bus1 / Bus2dyiid wrote:It would be cool to have an FX send at the bottom of each grid lane, so you can send individual parts of a sound to the FX, keeping the other parts dry.

Oh, cool! I did not know that! Thanks!

Might it be useful to be able to draw curves and straight lines in the mod mapper? Adjusting the value per key is fine, but when you want, say, a constant increase in value above C3, doing so on a per key basis is rather fiddly (and makes my eyes go all
).

I've never thought of that...AWATARZ wrote:Urs,
Is it possible to implement a Alt+Shift+mousedrag function on a delaytime/pan/vol knob on the Uhbik-D to control them all simultaneously?
Thanks
Have you seen MFM2 though, it's full of XY-controls:

I was contemplating to add more of these to my plugs... can't say for sure though when and how, especially as updating Uhbik graphics is a pita...

I would be happy just to have the alt-shift+mousedrag for now. I've tried MFM2 but I keep returning to the Uhbiks because of the simplicity of the layout and the set features. I'm sure the XY-controls are an extra feature that would be welcomed in the future.Urs wrote:I've never thought of that...AWATARZ wrote:Urs,

Go Uhbiks!
