At least you are willing to try it. I have no skills yet on Skin design.

What graphic program do you need? I use mostly Rhino but it is a CAD application.
I'm using the GIMP app that pljones mentioned, as I do for any image editing (XNView is my chosen image viewer though -- loads in a second, and the mousewheel scrolls through other images in the folder, great app). Notepad++ for the XMLs, as it has a handy structure parsing feature - you can collapse nodes in the hierarchy, if those are the right terms...

I'm working on it at the mo. Jo, do you have the creator's contact details? Just to check if he's OK with mods of his work.

LooxPhat has been created by Calum Wilson. His KVR username = Calum.

Thanks for checking this with him :tu:

Hey Jo, I've done the thin rack skin (for the smallrack panel, anyway), and all is fine, except for the volume slider. I've set up the co-ords and dimensions so that the actual area of input response is OK, but the slider handle is always appearing to the right.

I've messed around with the RackSliderBody and VerticalSliderBody formats, but no effect on where the handle appears whatsoever. What are the files that control its position?

Also, one little usability thing. I notice that when you manually expand a rack and then click on another rack, the original rack goes back to the unexpanded state. Is this deliberate? It'd make sense to me if manually expanded racks stay expanded until the user toggles them back.

It seems that when you click on the + symbol, the strips stay independent but if you click right on the top area of the strip then they become mutually exclusive. It is nice but maybe the opposite would be more logical....or practical.

In RackSliderBody.Txt, play with the LeftMargin parameter.

General tip: If you do an edit to the graphics files, then you can refresh the GUI via right-click at the right of the Main Menu -> "Reset Skin Resources".

Right-click the rack expand button and toggle off "Auto Collapse/Expand".
That should do it, right?

Not that I've ever tried doing a skin with that toolset (or any other), please be warned!!

Ah, now it's alright for the small racks but not for the expanded ones. OK, it's because I've changed the width of something for one rack but not the other then. I'll alter the expanded rack panel to sort it out.

Excellent, didn't know this. I was quitting the program and restarting. Special command, eh?

Hmm. I still think that manually expanded racks should stay open in auto collapse/expand. In auto, there's nothing to differentiate using the expand/collapse button from clicking anywhere on the rack.

Also, would it be possible to make the rack pan slider a bit less sensitive? It's hard to conveniently make fine adjustments at the moment with the dragging distance to get from centre to hard panned left or right being so short.

In M3, holding [Cntrl] will do fine adjustments :)
