Eloquence does pitch glides? And does it work as an arp?

And can the glide times be adjusted individually per glide or is it an overall setting?
Also, can Eloquence do arpeggios or only sequences?
Thanks!
From reading the write up, it seems that it does do pitch glides. So if I have a synth that doesn't do monophonic legato, this would essentially allow me to achieve the same thing?

they said they didnt imlemented an arpegio, because they say the best arpegio is in consequence.
however we all like to see an arpegio inside eloquence. this way we could use any synth with that cool arpegio.
Please implement an arpegio.

To introduce glides you could affect the portamento of your synth with the modulation cc track.
Another possibility to do glides is the Pitchbend sequencer.
The Pitchbend sequencer has individual glide times per step, these correspond to the gate time of that step(Long Gate Time=Slow Pitchbend and vice versa).
An Arp did not fit into the idea of Eloquence, but we keep that in mind.

After fiddling around with Eloquence I can understand why they did not include an arp. Basically the whole program acts like an arp. You can use the transpose section to move the pitch around and basically has the same function an arp would. Consequence is a chord sequencer, so an arp makes sense. Eloquence writes melodic lines, and has the bonus of having chord stabs that you can add in the performance section. Arps are for chords, leads by their nature are already arpeggiated.

My desire for an arp is satisfied - because Eloquence can trigger sequences wity note-on (though is this host-synced? - haven't checked yet).
However I still would like to see:
- Midi import (note, lenght, velocity are enough) and drag-able export
- Note ties between sequencer steps - haven't figured this out yet - is it possible?

Wouldn't increasing the "Gate time" past 1.0 (1.0 being the value for the duration of the step, gate goes to maximum of 4.0) give you an effective note tie ?
I have not tried it myself yet (not near my music PC to try it for myself).

I posted this in another thread, but +1 on the arp thing. You can create your own arps using the myriad of advanced tools in Eloquence. Study and transcribe the melodic patterns generated by a "typical" arp and then create those in Eloquence. I think this whole arp thing is sort of overrated. If you're a musician with any type of training, I think you ought to be able to create your own arps.

Correct - if your synth is set to mono legato. Otherwise, each step is triggered.Dunc wrote:Wouldn't increasing the "Gate time" past 1.0 (1.0 being the value for the duration of the step, gate goes to maximum of 4.0) give you an effective note tie ?
Thinking about it more, I could extend the gate time of some notes and leave others out for the same effect, however a seperate tie function opens-up more quick-editing possibilities.

Thanks for the tip, OCYL4T3! I had tried Chordsequence many times and was unable to grasp it. After using Eloquence for just a few days AND reading your above post regarding the difference of the two, I just "got" how to use Chordsequence.OCYL4T3 wrote:Consequence is a chord sequencer, so an arp makes sense. You're sort of missing the point of arps though. Sure you can sequence your own arp by writing a sequence in Eloquence, or for that matter any standard DAW's midi editor, but that doesn't allow you to actually play it on the keyboard. You can only play it back as it was written. With sequenced arpeggiators, you can write out the rhythm and perhaps the ties/glides, yet still be able to play whatever chords you want. This is a great in between for sequences and still being able to play the keyboard, and it's quite enjoyable to do. Not to mention when you're jamming with others (to a master clock obviously), and you actually need to play in different keys and play whatever strikes you at the time.JPark83 wrote:I posted this in another thread, but +1 on the arp thing. Excellent examples of these kinds of arppeggiators are in Albino3, Zebra2, Alchemy, omnisphere. They are much more fun than standard arpeggiators because you can sequence the rhythm, rather than just use standard up/down etc.
I really wish Eloquence did this, because I just can't imagine spending 330 dollars to be able to be able to both trigger sequences and do arps with plug-ins, which is what Eloquence and Consequence would cost together.
So it's a tough choice. I really like what Eloquence offers, but I really want the arp in consequence. However Consequence would be overkill for just wanting to use the arp functionality (and 200 is a little much to spend on an arp).
Maybe there's a market for a stripped down version of Consequence? Just a single sequence arp (instead of 4 sequencers) and with no internal sounds? That would be great actually.

I agree with the price of the combined products being too much. I plan on buying Eloquence because I get the ERA discount. And although Consequence is very cool, I won't be buying it at $130.Echoes in the Attic wrote:JPark83 wrote:

On a second note, I also have no interest in the internal sound generators or either of these instruments. I'd much rather have versions focusing on what they do best; arps & chords. There are so many great VST syths out there, and quite frankly Consequence doesn't come close in that area. I would jump on a version which stripped out the internal synth and sold for a lower price.

I can totally understand the problem with spending $330 + on software plug ins.
10% unemployment, although it seems like Japan is recovering a bit; the US and Europe, still very sluggish economically.
All I can say, is that I'm totally down to pick up Eloquence, and most likely another plug in from Sugar Bytes during the xmas season.
You do know, you will get a discount if you buy Eloquence and Consequence at the same time! You will spend less than, or just around 300. Not a big discount, but every little bit helps.
That is why I don't want to purchase Eloquence alone, I would much rather wait till I have a little more cash, and pair it with something else.
All I can say about Consequence is, "it is truly beautiful, something about the way Consequence was programmed is very special, not just a beyond musical plug in, a beyond mystical one as well."
It is the most perfect Arp. Here it is, sequencing Unique
