Consequence demo VST not recognized in Ableton 8.0.1

I downloaded Consequence demo VST, but it doesn't show up in my VST list in Ableton. I went into preferences and rescanned multiple times, even deleted the Preferences.cfg file, but it still doesn't show up. What can I try next?

Try downloading 8.04 and see if it works... maybe.

I doubt it's a problem with Ableton: it crashed every host I have (VSThost, both flavors of energyXT, and Reaper) when I tried it.
