Jo is it possible to list the instrument's controls instead of the standard 127 midi in the sequencer?

As VSTs don't provide a mechanism to query for their use of MIDI CCs (the parameters are separate and do get names), this would need some kind of config file per instrument. Now, if it could also hold MIDI CC to parameter mappings the user has chosen to set up, it could have dual purpose.
Not sure how you'd populate the MIDI CCs' names, though...

For example in REAPER and energyXT you can easily access those parameters in addition to the MIDI CCs.
I am not familiar with the right terminology, but the following images will demonstrate what I mean. The first is from energyXt and the second from REAPER and they show Albino3 parameters. In XT you need to scroll down.

I am surprised that I could not find this function in MuLab and Tracktion.
Is it technical or something relatively new for developer to employ?

Parameters are shown in MU.LAB on the automation lane of a sequence part - just right click and select the parameter you're after.
Of course, the target for the sequence part has to have parameters for that to make sense.

It was with bitter experience I quickly edited my post to add the second part... How many times I've forgotten that, I don't know!!
