Basically yes. But Alchemy has no wavetable synthesis. So far... (Maybe the only thing missing) :D

HI,

here are 20 beta patches for Synthmaster2 beta :
http://www.box.net/shared/lioa9zxffi

And of course a little bug ;-)

I would expect, when turning the volume of a LFO down, that there is no modulation going on when in Add-mode-modulation.
In the picture, I would expect the volume of OSC1 to be zero when the volume of LFO1 is zero - but it isn't - it results in a static value for the volume of OSC1 (no lfo modulation going on)

Confirmed. In some of my patches i attached aftertouch to LFO1 for doing aftertouch vibrato modulation. A small amount of vibrato could be recognized even when aftertouch is not used.

Thanks for the patches. Will test them as soon as possible.

UPDATE: I tried your patches now. Nice patches and they complement quite well to my patches contained in 1.9.9.10. The most interesting patches are the ones using advances features like FM, RM, additive OSC or wavetables. :)

Maybe you could add categories in the preset info of all patches, this would help to navigate in the patch browser. Categories could be added in the "Preset" menu.

Also I forget:

When using step or glide mode the volume knob has no effect at all...

--------------

And about the patches : they are really beta - just trying to get a feel for the sound.

Your patches are not more "beta" then mine. I started to do patches for trying the features of Synthmaster 2 and now there are already 50 of them included in the beta version.
Your patches are nice. If you like i could add categories for better patch browsing and post a link here. I already started adding some categories during playing with your patches.

Will this App work under 64 bit Vista and W7 . Is it vst or Standalone!!!!
I know its kind of nice that beta testers to talk a product up
but with some of the sound designers on board it could be a killer.

I can feel my wallet opening. Just make something for hip hop/ urban and not a trance synth only.

Cheers

its both a vst and stand-alone synth

and theres some GREAT sound designers that will make sounds for this beast.

and yes it IS a beast

Hello FragileX,

again thanks for your patches. I edited the categories as good as i was able to recognize. Feel free to change them, those are your patches.
The categories will help much as soon as we will have a huge amount of patches in the final version. The browser of Synthmaster 2.0 reminds me of NI Kore in this respect.

Here is the link (only categories edited): http://rapidshare.com/files/265162357/S ... gories.zip

I guess that wavetable synthesis (or better "wavescanning", like the PPG) is the only feature missing in Alchemy. AFAIK from my copy it can do VA, samples, granular, additive and spectral synthesis. A sample is not a wavetable in the sense of the PPG/Waldorf synths. In this respect Cakewalk Rapture is not such wavetable (wavescanning) synth as well.

What Synthmaster 2 beta has implemented looks like real wavetable (wavescanning) synthesis to me. The way it's implemented is quite close to Zebra 2. Both could use 16 waveforms for one wavetable which are interpolated. IMHO the interpolation of Synthmaster sounds better than in Zebra 2 (difficult to prove, just a feeling).
