Justin...wow. This is so far from what I'd consider "generic electronic". There wasn't a single supersaw in there :P
:hihi: I just labeled it generic because I didn't know what else to call it. I call what I normally make "noise" but I didn't feel that this one fit that label. :)

Honestly, I don't think I could make a supersaw if I tried.

It'll allow you to generate crosstalk and binary operations between internal variables. I'm not quite sure what it'll do, and it'll contain a lot of randomness, but it'll certainly make things go really, really strange. I havn't done it yet, and it might be a really stupid idea but it may as well be the holy grail of bleep. We'll see...

As for the others... I havn't fully understood the west coast side of synthesis (Berlin is pretty easty-ish... not just geographically... TD were the first West-German rock band to rock Warsaw IIRC). I understand that there's a massive load of really interesting devices out there, but my current concern is foremost about sonic quality of basic components. I think once that's sussed out and when the first twenty copies or so are sold I can probably go to Schneider's Büro and have them talk me into some serious stuff. If they still let me in, that is...

The "Holy Grail of Bleep" indeed, this sounds fascinating.

As far as West Coast synthesis, a few hours perusing the historical section of Buchla's site, in particular the 200 series modules, will be helpful, if you hadn't seen this all before.

http://www.buchla.com/historical.html

Viewing the module descriptions will probably have to do, as these systems are sadly rare and expensive.

a giant monophonic only one would also be an awesome candidate for having an audio in to really mess up my telecaster with :P

Yes, a monovoice one would be an option for an fx version with audio input.

I would however not rule out a version with *massive* amounts of audio inputs and outputs that happily patches with your Eurorack or whatever you have.

This may however be a nice thing to have as a stand alone, to circumvent shortcomings of various hosts right from the start.

D'oh. That would be for version 3 then. Or so

Cool synth idea! Thanks Urs for allowing us to sneak peak the program. The synth is a bit complicated, actually, I can not figure out how the LFOs work.

As far as the concept and features go- I really like it.

wire the lfo connects (LFO1 or LFO2) under the midi section to whatever you want to modulate. Then lower the ampmod knob (or use the default modwheel) to increase the LFO effect on the LFO module.

Here is a utilitarian patch. When you load it up it will make no sound.

http://www.3amnoise.net/pitched_noise.h2p

What you have here is 4 different sources of pitched noise. Each source has it's own channel on the first two mixers. Adjust the levels on these mixers one at a time while holding a key to hear the individual sounds.

This can be a starting point for more complex patches. :)

Hey Pdxindy, thanks for this help.

This synth sounds like something from the Crypt Keeper's private collection of music software. It is darker than night. I like it. Unfortunately the FM is a little shaky, and I'm having some other alpha problems.

I'm uncomfortable posting a patch, cause I don't know what will work, and how it will sound on other systems. But I'm so enjoying the look into the near future of Urs' software company, and experimenting with this very kind, friendly and cool pre-beta demo release.

I felt disappointment when Synth Squad was announced it would not be for PPC so it has been great timing to have access to this Bazille alpha. Bazille is so much fun to patch together and I get some really unusual and musical timbres, and the sound quality is astounding (should be for that CPU use!). Bazille is even more exotic and I can play around with audio-rate modulation to my hearts content. With Bazille in hand, I'm not feeling synth squad envy!

Urs, you should start to pre-sell the Berlin Modular immediately. I want to spend my money now so I know they go into the right pockets. (Development) ;) :P

Yeah, hehe...

I was contemplating to release a mini Berlin Modular up front maybe. Something like an MS-20 which would be a pre-patched 2Env-2LFO-2VCO-2VCF-VCA synth but has some patch cords for various routing and modulation options. Whoever buys this for, say a moderate price N would get a voucher of the same price towards Berlin Modular to use when it's finished...

I'm in! Now! :D

I'll see...

I'm almost through with Zebra 2.5's ui design. Just some little bits... maybe I can work on BM for a couple of days because I need to work on some more filter designs anyway. (That said, new Dual-VCO modules for BM have pretty much left my internal testing stage... they'd be ready to be thrown into an analogue modeling synth...)
