If you hit backspace at all, Live deletes Zebra's instance.
Luckily, you can undo, but I always get thrown by this.
Not sure if it's anything even under your control...

+1, Bazille has problems in this regard too, to the point that you'll select the text and not be able to type/backspace/cut/paste/do anything. Zebra, *most* of the time, I can get my patch named.

Key strokes are hell. As is text input in general.
With some hosts one simply can't open extra windows (this is where I lost my Apple-zealotism). Extra windows are great though because they're more likely to receive key events.
On the other hand side, if a plugin shyly monitors key events, it might already be enough to sabotage the workflow of any host software.
I'm not quite sure if there's any general solution. I might add some options about the aggressivenes of key interception at some point but d'oh... have to see what and when.
I guess I could hire a developer full time to just sit there and find a solution for every host / operating system

I have the solution, particularly for zebra: a module you can drag into the matrix called "patch namer."
Golden, eh?

I usually end up deleting 5 tracks because I start banging on the backspace repeatedly. So for me it's like, command-z-z-z-z-z.

Although it's cumbersome to use, the forward 'delete' key above the arrow keys on a standard size keyboard works, or fn+delete on Mac laptops.
