I like the spacey atmospheric feel those have, especially the first one is amazing.

NOTE: To All Patch Submitters
Not only are those who submitted a patch allowed to vote, but it is pretty much expected that they should vote.
So to all the patch submitters who haven't yet voted, please do so (you've got until Monday night!
(BTW, some people may remember a discussion during the first contest about whether there should be a rule explicitly banning patch submitters from voting for their own patches - I thought it wouldn't be necessary as I doubted that anyone would be brazen enough to do such a thing - well, bmrzycki forwarded the list of patches with patch submitters to me, and let's just say I was wrong

I'm always kind of torn about that...no one ever thinks it's unethical for say, a presidential candidate to vote for himself. Of course, a single national election vote has about 1/20,000,000th as much impact as one in here, though.

Well, I kind of think that, in this case, it's just not 'the done thing' to say "actually, I think my patch really is the best!" - even where you believe that to be so. Maybe it just offends my British sense of self-deprecation? (And I'm not trying to make out that we Brits are anything special, that's far from my belief!)porfiry wrote:I'm always kind of torn about that...no one ever thinks it's unethical for say, a presidential candidate to vote for himself. Putting aside any considerations of decorum and modesty (false or not), it just doesn't make sense to allow voting for your own submissions in a competition like this - you may as well just award every patch three points right from the outset and then go from there.
Anyway, it hasn't really affected the result and, after all, the competition is just for fun.

Charile Brown voted for Lucy when their class held elections, he was the only one who didn't vote for Charlie Brown.

1. Audacious Filter+ (I love this kind of sounds, and it's very cool to use a filter instead of an osc)
2. In the garage+ (Very usable bass patch, filthy, me like
)
3. Optimus Primodius+ (All that out of one osc! Great imagination has to be rewarded)
It was a very though choice, lots of great stuff in here!

Wish I could enter myself. My presets would be a joke against these. I am a Zebra noob. I will enter one day.

Maybe it's more the done thing in germany?hakey wrote:Well, I kind of think that, in this case, it's just not 'the done thing' to say "actually, I think my patch really is the best!" - even where you believe that to be so.

Well, was it a written rule? Why not?hakey wrote:Putting aside any considerations of decorum and modesty (false or not), it just doesn't make sense to allow voting for your own submissions in a competition like this - you may as well just award every patch three points right from the outset and then go from there.
Right. And this way a certain patch got at least one vote!hakey wrote:Anyway, it hasn't really affected the result and, after all, the competition is just for fun.

Erm... well it would probably be best to just put this down to a something like a cultural misunderstanding and we'll say no more about it.shogger wrote:Maybe it's more the done thing in germany?hakey wrote:Well, I kind of think that, in this case, it's just not 'the done thing' to say "actually, I think my patch really is the best!" - even where you believe that to be so.
