Has anyone managed to get the modulation system to work in Sonar?aniajudie wrote:I'm in love. You have done almost everything I could dream for. Just would like a random mode for only pitch for when I'm out for something interesting.
Surprise: ELOQUENCE 1.0.1 released!

Ok well I've tested this thoroughly on Cubase 501.147 Mac..
the modulation tracks are not actually outputting anything in cubase mac...not on any of the presets!
i have the notes, gates etc all working just fine triggering an instance of Sylenth1...
but when i record the output of Eloquence there is absolutely none of the modulation tracks content in the recording...
Now either I'm missing something or thats a rather huge bug

Don't get any modulation (CC) either, tried both on cubase and bidule. Now either I'm missing something or thats a rather huge bug
Demo limitation ?
@sugar bytes
Is there a way to change the scale by using some midi CC ?
I have a plug that will detect the key and scale from the chords I'm playing, so I could send a scale change and a pitch key to eloquence.

Hello,
same for me too: no CC output. It is send only to the internal synth. I have a registered version. But even more strange: when I hit the MUTE button, there IS CC output. But actually that's not what I would suppose
Looks like good-old if/else bug

We like this. Alot!
Demo installed and working fine in Cubase Studio 5. Remember, it's an actual VST instrument, not a MIDI effect or VST effect. It has its own built-in synth, but (obviously) the cool thing will be to have it effect other synths.
So in Cubase (and Sonar - the Cubase copy) simply insert a new instrument track and call up Eloquence. In order to get sound (RTFM) you need to start Eloquence, and then draw some velocities. Then change the pitch. Also extend the loop length. This is all described thoroughly in the manual pages 7 and 8.
Logic users - good luck. It obviously will work, but not without some fiddling. Makes me glad to be a (new) Cubase user. The great thing about Cubase is that they invented VST. So all of these somewhat out-of-the-mainstream (i.e. not NI Massive, etc.) instruments and effects work just fine upon install. Becoming less and less envious of Logic 9.

I'm noticing that too. I'm starting by making sure my Cubase loop length matches the loop length of Eloquence, even though that's by no means required.sonil23 wrote:
The only problem i have now though is that it can go out of sync quite easily, other then that its an excellent plug

Hello,
regarding the CC output, unfortunatly you are right.
Instead of muting the CC and Note output together, the CC output gets activated when mute is on and deactivated if it's off.
We will fix this asap. We plan to make an update in the mid or end of the next week mainly because of this issue. If you found other bugs please report them so we can fix them together.
Sorry for this really stupid bug.
i wish you an eloquent sunday

Hello,
I think there must also be any indicator for the modulation lanes. At the moment I don't know where there is something. I want to route the 8 lanes to the 8 Reason/Record Combinator device buttons. So I have created a default patch for this with CC 71-78. But at first glance, I cannot see which lane is active (sends some data).
The same is necessary for the pattern selectors. Maybe something like the small indicators for the synthesizer target parameter.
Ssome other maybe useful enhancements:
- Undo
- A/B comparison (can be done with copy/paste)
- a global range for the random lane; total random is often too much
- pitch bend lane sends ..., yes, pitch bemds. Other CCs would be quite useful too
- pitch sequencer could be in sensitive mouse mode by default
It's actually quite easy to come up with a lot of ideas
Regards
Guido

Just to clear this up, will Eloquence output its data to MIDI tracks in the host sequencer? I thought I read in the details and specs that it is designed to do this?
Aside from that I'm just getting my head around the whole idea of this: It's another step on the road which leads to a production setup being modular instead of everything contained in one DAW. For example, Cubase has great MIDI recording and editing features, but it doesn't have this. Ableton Live has great arranging features, but why not create the MIDI parts in Eloquence and then use Ableton for its strengths? These are just a couple of examples. In other words, use each piece for its strengths and then mix them together. Kind of like cooking. Many of the techniques and tools required to make a modern trance track are not available in your standard DAWs, or require tons of tweaking. Eloquence allows you to almost fall on it and get all sorts of pulsating rhythmic gooeyness. So then I want to dump it in to a "proper" MIDI track in Cubase.
Just rambling here but I think I'm getting it. Looking at a suite of "utensils" such as Eloquence, CamelSpace (probably somewhat redundant now), and the new Side-Chain Compressor from Vengeance.
And as regards arpeggiation, I think a reasonably musical person could analyze a basket of "typical" arpeggiations and create them from scratch in Eloquence. So in one way Eloquence does have an arpeggiator: You!

hi all.
love sugaer-bytes products. been active in a few consequence / catanya / midimadness posts.
what exactly is the difference between consequence and eloquence ?
Sugar - bytes site says
"Eloquence is an extremely powerful and intuitive MIDI stepsequencer plugin, giving you control over just about all aspects of your favorite MIDI devices. Use Eloquence to create varied and organic bass lines, screaming leads, pulsating chords, and organic pad sounds.
CONSEQUENCEis a chord groovebox thats both overflowing with possibilities and enabling an intuitive workflow, capturing any of your ideas directly via audiorecorder."
my consequene demo ran out ages ago. never really got time to get stuck in.
havent had the time to try out eloquence yet.

Eloquence is nice, though I would love to see more Random buttons on each of the individual sequencers, working like the Global Random button. I know there are random playback "modes" for the sequencers but they don't generate a random sequence that can "saved" and played a chosen way. I want to use use random generated sequences as a basis instead of just a tool when playing back. One other way to do it would be to be able to lock the different sequencers and the use global random to get some new random sequencer data. Homegrown Sounds 'Black Magic' have a nice implementation of creating random on different layers and modifiers. Check it out for some inspiration. Any thoughts on this?

It works very easy with Logic 9. IAC on, Cable from Eloquence to the Synth and it Rock's.
So I love Logic 9 and The Eloquence Combo.
