Argh, there you have it fanboy :D
Anyway you should make a similar comparison using the 2048sounds (or more) [if required shift the pitch] and then I can say if it's better than not.
I hope somebody who has Synth Squad can make a comparison like this with Strobe's and Cypher's raw oscillator sound.
And by the way, how's the wave import going?

The implementation will be pretty straightforward:

1. Put your WAV/AIFF files under Resources\UserWaveforms

2. Categorize your waveforms by putting them under subdirectories.

But the thing is, the waveform data will NOT be embedded in the preset when it is saved. Maybe I can ask the user when saving the preset for that? But for that we might have copyright issues as well, so initially we'll probably not embed waveform data in the preset!

Isn't the path enough? :P

BTW, are there "freeware" single cycle waveforms we CAN distribute with SynthMaster? i.e. make them part of "Factory" waveforms?

With Cantabile 1.2 full, an earlier beta (full, not demo) worked better than the one dated 8-18. The latter, when initially loaded into Cantabile, results in very high CPU usage, but unloading and reloading it greatly reduces the CPU usage, although I think (not completely sure) there are more CPU spikes sometimes when a new note is pressed than with the earlier version. Anyway, reloading isn't a very desirable workaround for me. :-)

Otherwise very nice! No other problems to report right now.

Wrong topic, gwill?

Freeware single cycles? Hmm I suppose there are some Virus ones but I dunno if it has to do with copyright things.

KVR googling: (dunno who wrote it :D:D)
"I recently received 6000+ ( Surprised ) single cycle waveforms from KVR member BFunKu. It's a collection of waves created by himself and some fellow sound designers and stuff he found on the internet the last 10 years. Maybe you should contact him (I was glad I did Smile Smile Smile )."

I think we wont distribute user waveforms, but will ALLOW using them.

That should be OK for everyone I guess.

@rectus: The topic is "SynthMaster 2.0 Beta testing started - Post bugs here!" Perhaps I should have written as follows: "With Cantabile 1.2 full, an earlier beta OF SYNTHMASTER2 (full, not demo) worked better than the one dated 8-18 ..."? I was reporting a SM2Beta problem, OK?

Hi Bulent,

Free doesnt mean redistributable, so my guess is it might imply asking every people releasing some of these sets.

Else I noticed than in the second skin reverb has less -but different- parameters than in the standard one.

Would it be possible to get a skin with a reverb that has all the parameters ?

Hi Laurent,

As I wrote in my previous post, I'll make it possible to add user waveforms in subfolders under Resources\UserWaveforms, but wont have any 3rd party user waveforms in Synthmaster. Users can add them themselves.

As for reverb, yes with smaller knob I should be able to fit all the parameters :)

Sorry, didn't know about Cantabile :P

Hmm, is there any chance of including more Galbanum waves? Maybe they'll give you discount. I'm not really into copyright and licenses, so bear with my unknowing.
I think maybe I'll make a "Reccommended for Synthmaster" pack from the free waves I can find on the internet. Of course it will include the properly tested and categorized ones.
And what about the 2048 sound case? I hope the next release will use that count

We'll stick to 128 factory waveforms from Galbanum, HOWEVER, we WILL generate more waveforms using the waveform editor in SynthMaster!!! We'll also an another waveform type to the editor: "additive" so that just as in v1.0 additive oscillators, you'll be able to generate single cycle waveforms by adding/subtracting/multiplying 16 different sine/square/triangle/saw waveforms.

I bet that should be sufficient enough for the waveform editor to generate custom waveforms :)

For the wavetable size, yes we'll go with 2048!!! 1024 is NOT sufficient for low notes. I also compared the performance, %10 more but that SHOULD be OK in todays 2.4 ghz CPUs!

I am very glad about the waveform import. There are tons of waveform in Cakewalk Rapture and it's additional soundbanks (including Galbanum) which i could use. It would just be difficult to publish such patches anywhere, either free or commercial.
