I would love to only have to carry one box around with me - a keyboard that has a MUSE receptor built in.

Open Labs deliver this sort of thing, but i think their layouts are cluttered and look piecemeal and ugly.
novation have some better looking controllers so the dream ticket would be novaton + Muse

We need a roadworthy series of keyboards ( 76 semi weighted and 88 weighted of course ) with receptor and a load of elegane controller knobs - ideally the ones with led pots.

This would be a really great idea but as history tells us with these companies, listening to the needs and demands of potential buyers doesn't equate to more revenue. Unfortunately that's how the business is driven. You would be hard pressed to find a company that actually searches there products forum and takes there customers wants into consideration for new products.

But who knows...Maybe someone will. I'd love to see this implemented.

I don't know... Personally, I hate the idea of buying a TV with a built-in DVD player. Sooner or later one of the components will break down, and then you'll be stuck. I'd rather keep things separate so if they breakdown its a cheaper fix.

Besides, you don't get much lighter in weight with piano action keys and road worthy, than an M-Audio controller...

Controller feel and options can be SO personal, I don't think they'd do well to be honest.

I have to agree with buscemi, there are so many different feels, and this is a very personal issue. Better solution, though still 2 boxes, will be the Musebox when it is released and gone thru a software rev or two...

Now a promotion/discount via some partnership with someone (StudioLogic/Fatar *cough*) would be nice. Especially if they grandfathered in existing customers

By the way, how do you suppose you're going to get a manageable sized Keyceptor with a MOBO inside it? That's why Openlabs are that big. You might think micro Atx, but I doubt that will get the job done. One thing about Openlabs that I like is the concept of building your own setup, or being able to have it customized to your own needs. The production model of most PC companies would be a good example for future keyboards as well as the receptor.

But do you think it is an accident that most of the Muse videos have one of their controllers? I have to say it probably isn't just some coincidental matter of preference, IMO. And most companies don't say not to more sales with little risk (typically someone like Muse would buy them, thus SL/Fatar makes the money regardless of how they move via Muse).

I don't have any issues with SL/Fatar. Quite the contrary, IMO they make the finest keybeds and boards around. I'm trying to get my hands on a nano but there aren't any around to demo. Italian companies for some reason do not like to affiliate themselves with others, but if you were to buy keybeds from Fatar to build your own rigs I wouldn't see any problem. But you would still end up with something with the dimensions of an Openlabs rig. What are you going to do with all the empty space on top?
