Hey,
i just opened this topic because i think this MSEG's make zebra really special and powerfull..
i most often use them on OSC Pitch or Wave Form..when i got a bunch of waveforms going on in moreOSC..
but do you know any more special stuff you dont mind to share??
would be really nice..thanks..
Mark

yea ok, i understand the basic logic of them but i would like to hear stuff like use an lfo on the pitch in 1/16 and then an MSEG on the Lfo timed to 1/8 or smth..just some crazy methods how to make things more evolving/organic..maybe with screenshots/presets or whatever..

I like using them for rhythmic sequences. It's slightly more difficult to get the timing right, than using lfo's or arpeggiator, but the results seem to sound better to me, and with more control over the sequence.
hakey did a "Bunch od Pluckers" here:
http://www.u-he.com/PatchLib/presets/z2 ... uckers.zip
They have some good uses for attacks too, as you can see from these.
edit: You can also draw a long sloping mountain loop. (down to up, then down again) and modulate that to the amplitude of an Lfo to get that lfo sweep thing.

you mean like a basic sine wave pretty long right?MCnoone wrote:

You can draw it however you want, but think the bottom part of the wave is when the amplitute is at 100-on and the top part is at 0-off, or vice-versa depending on what your amplitude is set at.Zork wrote:you mean like a basic sine wave pretty long right?MCnoone wrote:

You could really draw a triangle, sine, square, saw, or any shape that goes up and down, then put it in the modulation slot next to the amplitude. Apply that Lfo to an osc, fmo, comb, filter or anything else.

Sometimes I use the MSEG since you can round the edge and you do not get a click like the LFO will produce with certain parameters.MCnoone wrote:I like using them for rhythmic sequences. General offtopic thoughts...lool
edit: ok, i just found out where the problem was..but still it might be cool for everyone to post short samples of their tracks and let others create a soundfile for that/Preset/midi etc..a nice thing for the new sound design site by Urs...

Here's a thread by Michael Kastrup with many great examples of using MSEG's.
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... eg&start=0
Here's the zip dl with all the patch examples from that thread.

There are sequences in my "vision" bank using mseg's as well.

thx Howie...
am really curious on what decisions you create your MSEGS for example..
cheers
